If you're planning a visit to Door Peninsula, I highly recommend booking your stay at The Reynolds House B & B. It's conveniently located in Sturgeon Bay on a residential street within strolling distance of shops and restaurants and an easy drive from everywhere else on the Peninsula.

Heather, the owner, will greet you with a wealth of historical facts and spot on tourist information -- and perhaps best of all -- homemade chocolate chip cherry cookies!

The Victorian house is charming top to bottom with its lovely gardens, huge front porch, period woodwork, and antiques throughout. It could not be cleaner. You won't be able to find a cobweb or speck of dust.

We stayed in the Macintosh room which is yellow and cheery and quite comfortable. The bathroom is large containing both a whirlpool tub and a separate shower.

The breakfasts are homemade by Heather from many of her own recipes. They are usually two courses beginning with fruit. The dishes are beautifully presented, delicious, and enormous. You will not leave hungry.

Chicagoans, you will likely think The Reynolds House is a real bargain! You'd pay twice as much in Chicago to get half what you get at The Reynolds House. If you're looking for a B & B experience, you cannot go wrong here.

  • Liked — Cleanliness. Breakfasts. The owner.
  • Disliked — The wonderful breakfasts were too big for me.

We had never stayed in a B&B and our first experience here was marvelous. The owner, Heather, was just wonderful to deal with and since this was our first visit to Door County, she sat down with us and provided us a map with hints and information for our week. Everything she said was right on the money! The home itself is beautifully decorated, and has gorgeous woodwork. Our room was spacious and spotless. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The Reynolds House is in easy walking distance of all of downtown Sturgeon Bay's restaurants, museums, shopping and the harbor. Heather is an excellent hostess and truly an accomplished professional in the Bed and Breakfast field.

The Reynolds House is the former home of a major lumber and cherry (the two historical industries of Door County) family. The house has beautiful wood work and the innkeeper, Heather Hull, gave us a tour at check in which included the history of each room. We stayed in the Macintosh Room with the claw foot bath tub. The room was beautiful, spacious and comfortable. Many old Reynolds family photos and other mementos decorate the rooms and commons areas.

Ms. Hull gave us very helpful information about Sturgeon Bay and Door County including Whitefish Dunes State Park, Al Johnson's in Sister Bay, Bea's jams in Gill's Rock, The Old Post Office fish boil and the Simon Creek Winery. We really would have missed out on some great high lights without her direction; she really is an accomplished professional in the B&B business.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Reynolds House. Heather, the owner was very friendly and went out of her way to make us feel welcome and at home. She was a very good hostess and welcomed us with some very informative information about the area and attractions. She did a wonderful job with her very delicious breakfasts. If you left there hungry it wasn't because she didn't give you enough to eat. The food was excellant. We have stayed at othe B&B's and we rank this one the highest and best.
