“Great Place to Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2011

This hotel was a nice place to stay, we had gone to Door County the last weekend in September 2011 and had found out they had a massive storm up on the peninsula, 12,000 without power. All the hotels were filing up fast, but we had reservations. I explained to them my wife had foot surgery and wasn't able to do stairs. They gave us the very first room off the lobby, 2 Queen beds, frig, microwave, table and 2 chairs. We didn't spend much time in the room as we were out sightseeing most of the weekend. The hotel has a large breakfast (continental) area, off the lobby, a indoor pool and hot tub. They also have a tv and sitting area in the lobby for guests to watch, brochures off all the things to do and see up and down the peninsula. We would definately stay there again. The cost was only 94.00 a night with the AARP discount.

Room Tip: Get a ground floor room as they only have stairs, no elevator

The Best Western was fine for the price. The rooms are big and clean. Very friendly staff. The continental breakfast is small and run ONLY from 6am- 9am!!!!! Guests get 10% discount in the restaurant across street where the food was really great- big selection, big portions for reasonable price.

We find it difficult to find a motel/hotel that is pet friendly. We were happy to find this Best Western in Sturgeon Bay, WI. They do charge an extra $15.00 per pet, but at least our pet was allowed at this motel. Our reservation was accurate, our room was clean and very comfortable. This motel has the usual cold breakfast, hard cooked eggs, cereal, waffles, and limited fruit, along with coffee, juice, and milk. Just a very nice experience with this Best Western. Yes, we would recommend this BW and stay there again.

After staying here 2 separate times this Spring, I would say that for the price (less than $60) this place can't be beat. Yes, it is in need of updates. But we found it to be clean, the staff very friendly, and the large breakfast area is a definite plus.

If you are looking for a bargain, you sure can't go wrong. If you are looking for a upscale hotel, or a more modern hotel, then you I'm sure you will be disappointed.

Not all rooms have a microwave and refrigerator, so be sure ask about that what when making your reservation. Also there are no elevators.

Deciding to take a quick weekend trip up to Sturgeon Bay from Milwaukee for some relaxation and wine tasting, we wanted an inexpensive but nice hotel for the night. For being one of the most affordable hotels in the area, this place was great! The room was nice, yes a hotel makeover may be in order, but that didn't take away from our great stay, the beds were comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the continental breakfast was a great addition. The pool/hot tub was decent, and the hotel itself was pretty quiet. For a quick weekend getaway, this was the perfect place for couples or families on a budget.

The staff was pleasant at this hotel and it was located in a convenient location. If you are looking for a room that is handicapped accessible and use a wheelchair, this is not the place for you. I called specifically to see if the wheelchair would be able to get around in the room and in the bathroom. They assured me they had the measuring tape out and it would be fine for a family member using a wheelchair. Upon arrival, not a chance the door on the bathroom could even be closed with the wheelchair in the room. So much for privacy! The reason for this is the door opened INTO the bathroom and the bathroom was not big enough to swing the door past the bathroom. VERY disappointing!
