4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2014

We had a king bed room that was basic, but clean and comfortable. The price was very reasonable for the area. There was free continental breakfast which was, again, basic but the children there seemed to really enjoy it. The value of this place is in the location. It sits in a beautiful spot on the bay, just down the road from Potawatomi state park. Some of the rooms have doors that open out to a courtyard with picnic benches, which is nice if you have kids and dogs. They have a sand volleyball court, a sand bar and patio areas with no shortage of chairs. You can rent boats but they have little rafts that are free to use. Cyclists can rent bikes at the state park.
There is a bar and restaurant on the premises with quite a bit of local traffic. I saw fishermen sail up to the dock to go there. The food is pretty good and we didn't experience the service issues some people have reported. The restaurant features a fish boil on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday that's worth the trip by itself. The bar has live bands and gets a little noisy on weekend nights. The crowd can also make finding a parking space a little challenging.
If you're looking for a romantic getaway, by all means go elsewhere. If you have an active lifestyle and like kids and dogs you'll get great value for dollar. Use the money you save on the room to rent a jet ski!

Room Tip: The rooms near the road (away from the bar/restaurant) are quieter.

We had a king bed room which was dated but clean. There was a microwave, mini-fridge and ample towels. The mattress was comfortable and the bedding clean. The tv was old but had cable. A continental breakfast each morning was included. Any staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. We were touring the area by motorcycle so we didn't spend much time at the resort during the day but there was a small beach and boats and jet skis for rent. There was also a fire ring near the water which was a great spot at night. The site include a bar and grill (Waterfront Mary's, see separate review) with indoor or outdoor seating. If you want a five star resort this is not it, but if you want a good clean room at a very nice location at a fair price this will do nicely. Especially if you plan to spend your days away from the resort anyway (fishing, motorcycling, boating, etc.).

Room Tip: Some rooms open to a central courtyard with picnic tables.

From our home base in Green Bay, Wis., we've travel a fair amount in the U.S., Asia, Europe and Latin America and loved it all. Nonetheless, one of favorite places on earth is practically in our own backyard -- just a 45 minute drive up the coast of Green Bay to Beach Harbor Resort on the Sturgeon Bay Shipping Channel. At least once a year we spend family time there by renting the Beach House, but my wife and I often drive up just for lunch or dinner at Waterfront Mary's. Great place to sit and relax, watching the activity on the Channel.

We came with my 22 and 24 year old kids. My husband set up a guide trip to icefish and my daughter and I to shop. Coming into the property the water(ice) view was great! There was a lot of interesting activity on the ice. Moto racing, ice fishing...big ship coming from boat yard repair. The motel was very clean. We enjoyed a lunch and an amazing fish fry. I would recommend and hope some day our travels will bring us that way again. I saw kayaks and sailboats on the shoreline. I told they rent these I'm the summer . The location is perfect.

Went to Beach Harbor over the summer. We did most of our traveling North of Sturgeon bay. However, there was a beach at the resort and we spent a lot of time on it. Kids loved it and there huge rafts that were there for our use. Having a bar and grill there made for a good time for the adults too!

Room Tip: Get a room with a door that opens up into the courtyard so kids can run in and out easily!

My husband and I stayed at Beach Harbor Resort 12-27 thru 12-29.
The room was extra clean! Very good rates for what they offer. The best in the area!
The staff treated us like family from the start! The bar and restaurant had excellent food
and very reasonably priced. Our stay was simply amazing and I recommend this resort
everyone!! We will be going back in the near future.

Room Tip: Deluxe rooms are very large

This place was a “last resort” when we arrived on a fall weekend in Door Co. in which everything was already booked. They required a two day stay, but we took it anyway. It turned out to be a wonderful experience. The room was basic, but spacious and on the ground floor (all rooms are). Breakfast was OK. But the BEST part was the fish boil, for which Door Co. is famous, prepared on the beach. We all gathered around the cauldron as items were added in order: potatoes, carrots, onions, and then the cod. It was delicious.
