“Keep on driving!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

The owner's wife lacks customer service skills. She was very rude to my wife and I. We also visited expecting more baked goods and there was only fudge and two pies (one pumpkin and one apple). Very high priced tourist trap.

“Such a delightful store!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012

We really enjoyed this place, was on our way out of Door Co..you can sample taste pretty much everything before buying and there are so many cute things to buy or just browse.
It got really busy while we were there, yet the gentleman who was at register(alone) was still so kind and attentive to each person!
We bought some Cherry Preserves and Apple Pecan Butter spread..YUMMM!! We also got some charming little decor things. Good prices too..
If you can, its worth a stop to this place!!

“A variety of good souvenirs and foods”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2012

It has a very large selection of wines, jellies, pies, souvenirs and local crafts. The pies are home made as are lots of the jellies. Pies sell out fast so you must shop early in the day for them.

“Jam and life lessons...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2012

My sister and brother in law have long raved about Grandma Tommy's, so on our trip to DC this past weekend we made a point to stop in. The good: the store which was indeed spacious, well merchandised, and offered a host of tasty treats with many sampling stations around. A wide range of jams, jellies, other preserved garden goodies, salsas, cherry products and salad dressings (amongst other offerings) was at prices comparable to those found at other stops in the Door. We left with fudge and a balsamic walnut blue cheese salad dressing.

The bad: despite the homey atmosphere and evident family tradition, I've always quietly thought that Grandma Tommy (featured in the store's logo) looked like the kind of grandma you'd be a little afraid of -- the stern disciplinarian. Signs on almost every display in the tone of: "One sample only." "You break it you buy it." and "Not free." Clearly along with the family recipes, part of Grandma Tommy's legacy is admonishing those who visit "her" store. I'd anticipated filling a basket before we left, but we saved that spree for another store with a friendlier attitude. (We are definitely "taste and buy" shoppers, but the signs by all tasting stations made us feel less free to do the tasting part so we skipped the buying part.)

I've based my rating on the fact that the couple of samples we we did taste were excellent, and the store is lovely. Unfortunately, that isn't enough to bring us back next year.

“Nothing spectacular”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

Just another store with jams, dips, cheese, and goodies. I think the prices were alright, and about the same as everywhere else. Just nothing stood out about this store, EXCEPT for the adorable hay bales outside decorated as cherries. Loved that!
