“Mel's rings the bell!”

Great place for a noon lunch. Can eat in or out. Nice view overlooking the ship channel. Ask for their tomato soup florentine, smooth as silk!

“Nice outdoor breakfast-Dog friendly!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

Fresh breakfast menu. Corned Beef hash is truly homemade and terrific. Omelets use real local ham. Cool old venue, across the parking lot from Centerpointe Marina.

“Real Food for Real People”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

This place is the best for breakfast for all ages.in Door County. Large portions, hot when served, clean as a whistle with lots of locals. Children's portion could serve an adult but indulge.it's worth it. The food is not gourmet but real for regular folks. My granddaughters cleaned their plate large light pancakes, plenty of butter and syrup with crispy bacon. Cant top that.

“Food was good, but a bit slow”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013

We stumbled on Mel's by accident on our way home from Door County. We got their at the end of their day and service was pretty slow. Not sure why because the place was pretty empty. But when our food came it was very tasty. My husband had a great Caesar Salad, the French onion soup was delicious (a bit salty but prob. cause it was the end of the day). I had a really tasty Ruben, just the right size but I had asked for the dressing on the side and they forgot. The waitress caught the mistake though so when our food came my sandwich had gone back to be fixed, a bit disappointing since we had waited so long and we were hungry. But the new sandwich came out very quickly (without the dressing on the side which I then had to ask for) and overall I was not disappointed with it. The prices were excellent and despite a few glitches that I am putting down to getting there so close to closing I would go back. There were a lot of nice looking things on the menu.

“Nice Outdoor Seating”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

We enjoyed lunch outside under an umbrella and the shade of a cherry tree! The restaurant is located in a very old building with lovely trim and a view of the Center Point Harbor area. We ordered vegetable quiche and a bratwurst sandwich. Both were good. Service was friendly and efficient. We will visit again.
