“Beautiful and comfy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

We booked the 2 bedroom suite for the weekend of Door County fall 50 (50 mile relay run). The front desk was very friendly and helpful. Every room has a view of the bay. We had a nice kitchen, fireplace and living room space. We slept in the master and the bed was very comfortable. Each unit is individually owned so I assume the furniture is the owners as well. We had a jacuzzi but never had time to use it. We also had a balcony but not time to use it either. They had coffee in the lobby, which was tasty and nice to have at 5 am. There was also a lot of parking. I definitely want to go back during the summer, when we have more time to spend.

We booked a suite for three days during the Columbus day weekend. We arrived to a somewhat secluded property that was wonderful. While it is close to Sturgeon Bay, you wouldn't know it. The shoreline setting was beautiful and quiet. The property has only 3 floors and 38 suites. We stayed in a one bedroom suite with a very well equipped kitchenette. The gas fireplace functioned perfectly and added warmth on the chilly evenings. The maintenance is impeccable. Everything worked and looked new.
The layout of the suite gave us a bedroom window and a balcony with a stunning view of the lake. Even though the resort was full, we rarely saw other guests and we didn't hear any sounds from other rooms. Most guests appeared to be couples. I'm not sure if families with children would like this as much as we did.
We used this as a starting point to explore Door county. It was a great choice.
When we return we will be staying here again.

Room Tip: Suite 301 is fantastic, but I'll bet they are all good.

The rooms were nice, very clean. The area is beautiful and the staff is very friendly.

The rooms were well priced for the accommodations. It was nice to have coffee any time you want it.

It is very relaxing and peaceful.

There were only two of us for our stay but they upgraded us to a two bedroom suite. It was like being in a small apartment. Nice to have a kitchen on vacation incase you want to hang or not spend on eating out all the time. We had a good view of the lake and experienced a great sunset. The location was perfect. Only about 5-10 minutes from Sturgen Bay and within easy driving to the tip of the peninsula.

We thoroughly enjoyed our apartment, the resort, and Door County. The resort was perfect because the rooms are full apartments with a kitchen stocked with dishes, silverware, pots, pans, etc. plus a dishwasher and microwave. We never had to go out for breakfast and many other meals. There are also 3 grills outside available for grilling - they have the utensils for that too. There is a Walmart and other supermarkets close by to stock up on food and other necessities. The apts also have DVD players and the resort has a library of tons of DVD's you can borrow for free. WWS also has a small (clean) gym, indoor and outdoor pool (key if you you have kids) and a rather large sandbox outside of the little ones. Best of all, there is an expanse of grass and chairs in the back, where you have a front row view of a beautiful sunset over Green Bay. We were a family of 3 (two adults and a 20 month old). We are a same-sex couple (two women) and we were never made to feel less than comfortable and never felt treated differently than anyone else.

Room Tip: There is no restaurant in this resort though of course there are many options in Door County. There...

We had a great 4 day weekend after Labor Day at the Westwood. Very clean, great location, wonderfully quiet. We could hear the waves lapping at the shoreline. Kitchen was handy for coffee, breakfast & snacks. Suite was a great size, loved morning coffee on the balcony, and the sunsets were magnificent. Close to restaurants. I hope we can come back next year.

Very clean, staff was very helpful and friendly, view of the bay was good, and sunsets were really spectacular. Only negative I can think of was the second bedroom did not have air conditioning and was too warm to sleep in. Sauna was great.
