“Excellent Wisconsin Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2010

Ideal location for FLW Taliesin, House on the Rock, and Wisconsin River trip. Very cute hotel tucked away in Wisconsin. FLW character to it. Owners were very knowledgeable of the area and extremely hospitable! Had excellent recommendations for nearby hiking, biking, canoeing, and sites. Rooms were very clean. Staff very helpful. Food and bar were convenient. Pool / Hot tub / Sauna are a big plus.

My husband and I stayed at the Spring Valley Inn for just one night. These reviews helped us to make the decision. I would repeat mostly what I read - very clean, good-sized and attractive rooms, staff at the reception desk extremely kind and friendly. We attended a play at the American Players Theater in the evening, and it is very close in proximity to the Inn. Although I've given this hotel 4 stars, to be honest, the hot breakfast that is included with the rate is very average. My husband ate a bit, and we both had coffee. I better enjoyed having breakfast at the General Store in Spring Green later that morning. The hotel rate is fair, and I would not hesitate to go back to this hotel.

John and his family are just wonderful hosts. The Inn is rustic, yet very comfortable,
the service is impeccable..the cafe food delicious. The Inn is very, very convenient
to Taliesin, House on The Rock, and American Players Theater. Get tickets to a play
if at all possible during their season. The town of Spring Green is charming with a good selection of restaurants

This was a wonderful find. Beautifully maintained, caring staff, great pool, rooms are generous and beyond clean. The grounds provide a quiet retreat and you are surrounded by nature. Watching the birds while siting in Pat's Place was an unexpected pleasure. We didn't eat dinner there but we did have an outstanding lemon cake which we came back for on the second night. It was a steal compared to other facilities.

We gather at Spring Green for the American Players Theatre every year. My Aunt started this several years ago, and the event has now grown to include cousins and friends and has become an annual family gathering. Spring Valley Inn works very great for us as a “home base” for the weekend. It has a pool for the kids, it has a nice lounge and restaurant (with an outdoor fire-pit) for the adults. It is close to Spring Green, the outdoor theater complex, and numerous beautiful small towns with shopping, and lots of hiking opportunities if you can stand the mosquitoes. So there is a lot to do around the area and several groups will splinter off during the weekend and re-gather at the Inn. The Inn is reasonably priced; the rooms are quiet, clean and comfortable. This all makes Spring Valley Inn a perfect location for our family. The negatives (very minor) were the free Wi-Fi Internet was very slow, and the breakfast, mostly great with fruit and bread, bagels and muffins, also featured nasty looking artificial eggs. Overall, we had a great time and loved the Inn!

My friend and I wanted to see Taliesin so we were delighted to discover the Frank Lloyd Wright inspired Spring Valley Inn. We enjoyed the do it yourself free breakfast, while we watched the birds outside. The proprietors and staff were wonderful and gracious. I would not hesitate to recommend this establishment. It is priced right ...a lot of bang for the buck.

This place is one of those rare finds where you get a combination of a polite staff with personable owner. The staff was attentive, and as an out-of-stater, I can say that these folks represent Wisconsin hospitatilty. The Inn has a shop so we could buy last minute things without leaving the grounds at night. Moreover the location is great for going to see the Frank Lloyd Wright sites. The rolling hills of southern Wisconsin provides a beautiful backdrop. The Spring Valley Inn will be on my list of places to stay for a long time.
