Driftless Depot is an organic deli in Spring Green, stocking local produce and frozen meats and fish. Sandwiches are available during the day.
It turns out that on Fridays, the owners create trout dinners with fresh fish from a local trout farm. Make your reservation by noon on Thursday, and come for dinner on Friday. Salad greens are local, as are the potatoes. Desserts include several types of gelato, or cheesecake.
Service was delightful, by young women from the area. Wine selections were made easy by the owner as he walked us through the kinds of wine we usually enjoy and then suggested "an oaky chardonnay."
We ate on the patio and the owners were aware that we had theater tickets later in the evening, so they watched the clock for us.
