We couldn't believe how beautiful and peaceful this place was. It was just the place we needed to unplug from the hustle of everyday life for a while. There are so many different things you can do that it works for anyone really. Pete and Nora were fantastic hosts. The whole place is open and spacious, and the suite we stayed in was cozy and clean. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Stop reading this, and just book the room now! Pete and Nora are great hosts. The surroundings are remote and if you want to drive a little ways there is some shopping. But if you are looking to get away from civilization and take in some of God's beautiful creation, this is the place! The breakfasts were amazing! We hope to visit again in the fall and possibly stay in one of the cabins.
Again if you are reading this, what are you waiting for, make the call or email them now and let the relaxation begin!!!!!

Room Tip: We'd stayed in the Prairie room and it had a king sized bed and whirlpool. There is no swimmi...

Beautiful B&B in a gorgeous valley! Yummy breakfasts. The owners were just like staying with friends.
The room was impeccably clean with Amish furniture and quilts.
A perfect getaway. Just what we needed to get ready for the crazy holiday hustle and bustle in the city.
Thanks Nora and Peter!

Room Tip: They have 3 B&B rooms in the main house. There are two out buildings which are more private. D...

Sssshhhhhhh. It's quiet. Far from the hub-bub of the city, this place is just beautiful, the hosts are warm and accommodating, and the rooms and houses are wonderfully appointed with every detail configured to make us comfortable, welcome, and let us enjoy whatever we're there for. Just as an example, even the grills at the houses are high-end Webers, not cheap knock-offs. That high-quality theme permeates the whole place.

It's also green. They have locally-sourced materials to support the local economy and maintain the superb quality that we experienced.

We definitely plan to be back for another restful few days as soon as we can arrange it.

Room Tip: At Pete's invitation, we took a look through all the rooms, in the main house, "cabin"...

My husband and I have found this is a wonderful place to stay to get away from the rat race. The views are incredible and the area is so peaceful. Pete and Nora are excellent hosts. The room was perfect and the food great. There is nothing negative to say about our stay only that it is never long enough. When leaving, they recommended a trip up the river road on the westside of the Mississippi to see the tundra swans and bald eagles at Brownsville. It was great. We saw dozens of eagles and hundreds of swans. An added bonus were the number of ducks and pelicans still 'hanging' around western Wisconsin. Great area to take friends and family to enjoy the larger accommodations on site.

Our second time staying here. We just love it. It's the perfect B&B nestled in a quiet little valley. The views are superb. And at night you can see the stars - very impressive to city slickers. The owners go out of their way to make your stay pleasant and relaxing. The rooms are spotlessly clean with lovely Amish quilts on the beds. The grounds are well-kept and beautifully landscaped. We love the Prairie Rose Room in the inn but the Homestead suites and the small cabin also look lovely. Nora's breakfasts are delicious and then you can walk off the calories on the trail up the hillside.

Room Tip: All three rooms in the main inn are lovely but the Prairie Rose is the best. Very roomy and bright.

We love the Driftless Area, and while there are other places to stay (B&B's, Lodges, Hotels, Motels) you just can't beat the Inn at Lonesome Hollow! There are 3 rooms inside the B&B you can chose from, or two seperate cabins (one smaller, one for larger families) that are all wonderful. All are immaculate and well decorated to make this your home away from home. The Inn located on large acreage that is well groomed and the flowers, the songs of the birds, the hike up a mountain which goes past a pond, is fun and with a vinyard at the top.

Your hosts Pete and Nora are very welcoming, fun, knowledgeable about the area and beyond, and breakfast is always delicious!

We come mostly to fly-fish in the many, many creeks and we are never disappointed! Not into fishing? Downtown Viroqua has shops, restaurants, and antique shops are in almost every town.

Why go anywhere else? This has it all! Winston & Cheryl
