As a Sheboygan county native, there's really no place I'd rather be...particularly as spring/summer comes up on us! No need to spend $$.
The farmer's markets will be starting in not too many more months: Elkhart Lake's in their downtown, and Sheboygan's in Fountain Park.
Check out a kayak rental from Ecology Outfitters (on 8th) or EOS (on South Pier). You can launch right from south pier with EOS, but Doug from Ecology Outfitters can bring the kayaks to Sheboygan Falls and it's the perfect 4 hour trip back to the lake (that's Lake Michigan...THE lake...not just any lake).
Kohler's Design Center will have a displays, I'm sure, and good for daydreaming about our own remodeling projects, but even better is checking out the basement level with the Kohler museum and art display.
Bring your bikes and take our own Plank Road Trail all the way from Sheboygan to GreenBush if you want. Once in Greenbush, check out the Wade House, where volunteers give tours, there's the monthly 1800s baseball game, and the Carriage museum.
If we need to escape the heat, snow, or rain, my first choice is the Mead Public Library. Great staff, great selection!
Check out sheboygan-press.com for local events, which include everything from a $5 movie at the Stephanie Weill Center, free movies at the airport, 2nd and 3rd Saturday programs from the Sheboygan County historical society, the VFW fishfry (Do not miss! Get stuffed for less than $8!! with the best atmosphere), live music at some of the pubs, yoga classes, galaxy bowling at Odessy Fun Center
I'd be glad to help if you need some other advice about visiting our county! You could definitely have a great weekend for less than $300 total!
