“Great hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2014

We stayed for 2 night in January and Glenys immediately made us feel at home. We visited Arrowtown whilst there on the recommendation of Glenys and thoroughly enjoyed the rest-bite from visiting Queenstown. Everything was perfect at The Ferry B&B and we highly recommend to stay there.Thank you Glenys.

It was our last couple of days in New Zealand and we felt so lucky that we stayed with Glenys and Kevin's Ferry B&B. Perfect ending of our lovely 2 weeks in NZ. The garden is beautiful and makes the house look like a fairy tale home from outside. Step inside, lots of history but warm and cozy! we loved the fireplace and Glenys made the fire every nights. Although not very cold, we enjoyed the quiet and homey feeling by the fire. We had the whole place by ourselves and really felt at home with kitchen, non-restricted wifi and everything you might need. The breakfast was delicious with freshly homemade bread....And it was so quiet during the night and we had the best deep sleep. Don't forget to walk around, the bridge near the house and the scenery is super! We truly enjoyed our stay and will dream to go back there soon!

The Ferry was a perfect fit for our family of 4. The hospitality from the host was outstanding. The breakfast with homemade bread and fresh fruits was a perfect way to start the day. The walks around the home place are very special. The pets were a special touch...my family loved seeing and playing with the dog and 2 cats. Everything was functional and worked as it should. Thank you for a memory of a lifetime.

My daughter and I stayed with Glenys and Kevin for 3 nights and had a wonderful time over New Year. It was such a great rural location close to the river and walks, easy access to both Arrowtown and Queenstown. The gardens were lovely and the hosts very kind, warm and helpful. we felt like we'd visited family. The room was lovely, the bed comfortable and our hosts had thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and homely. There was plenty of space and hooks to put our things and even lambskin slippers to sit in front of the fire at night. We'll be back when next in Queenstown.

Stayed for 4 nights in Feb 2013. The best place we stayed in our two weeks of travelling. Glenys is a truly superb hostess who thinks of the tiniest detail. The bedroom was beautifully decorated and it and the en suite were spotlessly clean, as was the rest of the house. Having use of a fully fitted kitchen was great. And one did not feel awkward using it as you do in other places. If I were to be in this area in winter, I would definately book this B&B - it is comfy and welcoming and looks just like a home from home. The woodpile ready for those blazing fires is impressive!!! Thank you Kevin and Glenys, and particuarly, Buckley.

Stayed a week with Kevin & Glenys & didn't want to leave. We felt more like friends, than paying guests. Kevin & Glenys were interesting & interested making our stay so enjoyable. The historic house is spotless & well loved. Fascinating photos & news articles of the 1870's house adorn the walls that give you a real insight into the early days of Queenstown area. If you don't like the rowdy crowds of an evening then this is the place for you. It is wonderfully quiet! Glenys's personal touches during our stay, like choosing what time we wanted breakfast, were greatly appreciated! Especially since we found ourselves sleeping later & later as the week progressed. Kevin's knowledge of the local fishing spots was an advantage & we had lots of fun finding them, we even caught a few trout. The house sleeps six so perfect if you're travelling as a family group. We won't hesitate to return.

We stayed with Glenys and Kevin for six nights, and wish it was six months. The spacious area we had ensured that the peace and quiet of the location continued in the house. As hosts, they are exceptional, breakfast beautiful, i have even bought a yoghurt maker as Glenys converted me to making my own. Buckley was so well behaved. The extra touches were thoughtful, and having things such as wifi and the use of a spacious and well stocked kitchen was fantastic. We will be back, and take our family with us, wouldn't think of staying anywhere else.
