“a wonderful evening/experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2012

We have nothing but postive things to say about our stay at the Lucerne Inn and have highly recommended it to anyone travelling in the area. This was our second stay there and it is a pleasant change from the big chain properties. We availed of the stay and dine promotion, which we would also highly recommend. Our room was very clean and had many wonderful amenities. Fireplace, headed towel rack, king bed and sitting area. The staff were very friendly and professional. I had a wonderful birthday.

Room Tip: honeymoon/executive suite, amazing view

We spent the last night of 2011 here and had a great time. Our room was lovely and the food even better. We had the package and it included dinner, dancing at the Overlook next door and brunch New Years Day. Everything was just as we had hoped it would be. Perfect ! A great way to ring in the New Year. We will be back when the weather is warmer to take advantage of the golf course across the street.

I had the pleasure to visit the Lucerne Inn towards the end of Summer. What an amazing and beautiful place. From the service, food and accomadations. The owners (Steve and Rhonda) were very polite and always seemed to assist us when needed. The golf course across the street is good and somewhat challenging (25 Handicap) and the Sunday brunch was incredible. I could not believe the items that were included for such a great price. The room was very nicely appointed and enjoyed the views of the lake. I currently reside in Boston and can not wait to get back to Maine and stay at the Inn. I hope they have great success and look forward to an annual trip to the monuntains. You will not be dissapointed.

Unfortunately, my fiance and I had a terrible time at The Lucerne Inn. I had reserved a room for a romantic get-away to celebrate our proposal anniversary. Although we had been together over five years, we had never had the chance to celebrate an anniversary before. I booked in advance and even ordered chocolate covered strawberries and rose petals to surprise him with. I specifically requested that the goodies be set up in the room before we got there so that I could surprise him. Everything went perfectly -- until at check-in the receptionist LOUDLY read off each item -- including the rose petals and chocolates. It was right before dinner and people were waiting to be seated for dinner. It was mortifying. When we got to the room we found that everything was beautifully laid out for us -- but the noise from the kitchen below us and the stairs by our door were imposing and we were still recovering from our humiliation from check in. What's worse is we had to deal with this woman for our dinner reservations (*wink wink*nudge nudge "how was your room?") AND at checkout she did THE EXACT SAME humiliating announcement of our stay to a lobby of brunch guests! It was appalling. Beyond that -- the noise in the room was atrocious. Neither of us slept a wink. When we mentioned this to the receptionist she got huffy, barely apologized and did nothing for us. We were so upset that we left without going to brunch. I hate to say it -- but this was by far THE WORST night I ever had at a hotel. Oh and the fire place stopped working, my fiance burned himself on the heated towel rack and the TV had a corner smashed off of it. Heard enough yet? Hate to say it -- but don't go there.

Room Tip: Do NOT stay above the kitchen -- you won't sleep a wink!

I am very disappointed that you were not happy with your stay. We normally go over the guest folio upon check-in but have now changed the process to not verbally include guest amenities. Our kitchen closes at approximately 9:30 on a Saturday and opens again at 6A.M. on Sunday to start our Brunch. We talked to our new morning Chef about your mention of the noise and he will be more aware of our guest rooms, we also talked to our front desk attendants about initially having a more businesslike relation with our guests. The fireplace in your room appears to be working properly so I'm not quite sure what happened there but will have our maintenance man take a look at it. We are in the process of replacing all of our TV's with flat screens, about half are done and will be completed by April. We have warning signs on the towel warmers that state they get hot, I am sorry that your fiance got burned. It sounds like the front desk did not handle this properly upon check-out, we have had meetings to address this issue. Again, i am very sorry for your disappointment and do wish that you would give us another chance.

My husband and I spent a quick overnight visit while traveling between southern and northern Maine. It was a great deal, clean, friendly, and welcoming. We will be back for a longer visit.

Recently my friend and I stayed 2 nights at the Lucerne Inn. We were so impressed by not only the beauty of the Inn and grounds but by our room and the spectacular view from our room! Our room overlooked the lake and the wedding gazebo which was beautifully decorated for 2 upcoming weddings. Our room was cozy with a gas fireplace, clean and very comfortable in every aspect. The food at each meal was amazing with the Sunday Brunch being a Wow moment! Everything you could imagine for food and so, so delicious. There was so many choices and we tried many of them leaving full and satisfied! The staff from check in to check out was friendly, welcoming and attentive to our every need. We were pleased to see the owners, Steve and Rhonda, and commend them for their beautiful place, food and staff. We are looking forward to our next trip to the Lucerne Inn and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the JR Executive Suite looking out over the lake and wedding gazebo
