My family and I dined here for breakfast recently, I had read the reviews and expected it to be good, but it truly surpassed my expectations. There were 2 young men (younger than me I am 40) zipping around the front, waiting on tables, taking payment, filling orders etc. At first I thought that without a female with an obvious presence my daughters (10 and younger) would not be welcomed, boy was I wrong! We came at a time of the year when it is very busy...July 4th. The restaurant is small with about a dozen tables that are moved around easily for accommodating smaller or larger parties, and a few seats at the counter. We did wait a short time for our table (to be expected), and were graciously seated and orders taken. My hubby and I were shocked when the waiter (possibly one of the owners) recommended only 1 serving of the short stack of pancakes for my kids to share...he was right, one pancake for each was more than filling...we took half home. We also ordered the caramel apple crepes..delicious, flat crepes with apple right in the batter and caramel drizzled over the top, as well as the biscuits and gravy..all wonderful and homemade! We noticed that at one time the other waiter (maybe owner) chased after a family leaving with a baby's sippy cup they had inadvertently left, all of this while the place was still very busy...what a caring touch! My daughter's were treated very well with the waiters being kind and gracious when my kid mistakenly elbowed him, and my other daughter practically ran into a waiter on her way to the bath room. The food was excellent and the service exceptional! They only serve breakfast and lunch, till 2 ( I think) and are open Friday night for Fish! I don't know who these guys in front are, but they work hard, and I hope they play hard, and are around for a long time to come!We will be back for the Fish fry!
