“We're so excited to go back!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2012

This place is amazing! We stayed in the Praire Smoke guest house for our honeymoon and we had the best time. The bed was comfortable and the room was intimate and inviting. Every morning breakfast was promptly delivered and was delicious!!! Fresh squeezed orange juice and the fruit tasted like the innkeeper, Jean, picked it from her garden that morning. Even though the B&B was filled to capacity, we rarely saw anyone else on the grounds. Jean was incredibly kind and sweet. She even allowed us to use her husband's fishing gear to fish the pond (which is fully stocked. It was my first time fishing and I caught 3 Bass!). Later that weekend we hiked their woods, which I believe is 55 acres. The woods even had benches in randomn places to rest by the trout stream that runs through it. Its close to the Dells so we had plenty of options to choose for dining. I cannot possibly say enough about this place. It was romantic, secluded and just beautiful.

p.s. Its a great value for the money! Very feasible.

We stayed here while visiting family in the area and we will definitely return. This B&B is truly a gem as the other reviewers have noted. There is complete privacy because the guest quarters are separate from the owners house and they are in 3 different buildings. They were really designed with privacy and comfort in mind and you can tell the owners took lots of care in decorating the rooms individually, using antique and rustic pieces in the decor. Couples looking for a romantic retreat will find that this is just the place. The room included a very comfortable bed, a jetted tub, a nice sitting area with TV, a desk, a nicely appointed bathroom and extra amenities like 2 plush bathrobes and binoculars (which could come in handy to watch the deer which seem to frequent the area). We had two deer run across the road in front of our car as we drove into the long, private driveway that very first night, almost as if they were on cue to welcome us. It was a treat to have a gourmet breakfast delivered to our door each morning. Hard to say which dish was our favorite as we sampled things like blueberry clafoutis; a savory breakfast bread pudding with eggs and prosciutto; a breakfast tart with gouda creme fraiche, eggs and pancetta and parmesan cheese. We really loved eating our breakfast outside on the porch in front of our unit with an expansive view of flowers and the pond. Thanks so much to our gracious and accommodating hosts, Jean and Kurt, for making our stay such an enjoyable one! You truly have a unique, beautiful, and special property.

Food was great, the hosts were friendly, the rooms were fastidiously clean, the bed and sheets were comfy, and the rooms were nicely decorated with nice amenities. I can't say enough positive things about this place. I can't wait to visit again, and I can't urge others strongly enough to book Pine Grove Park Bed & Breakfast. My wife and I really loved being here.

My husband and I stayed at the Tamarac guest house July 26-29th of 2010 for our honeymoon, and it was... amazing. Peaceful, secluded, and beautiful... the owners really try to give you as much privacy as possible. There are four guest quarters in total; Willow View and Tamarac are their own separate buildings, the other two actually share one structure, including a small but functional lobby.

When you drive to this B&B, be sure to write down the numbered address (S2720) because there is no sign on the street. You enter the drive and about twenty feet down you see this quaint lantern and sign that lets you know you're in the right spot. It is an incredibly romantic and exciting feature that lets you know this is a secluded and romantic place. Drive past the owner's house and barn to the small parking area to park. We did self check-in, so our keys and paperwork were waiting for us in the lobby. It was GREAT. I did eventually meet Jean a day later while she was cleaning a recently vacated cabin, but it was so nice to be left to ourselves for a romantic getaway. Jean was amazingly nice, and the breakfasts were... just so mouthwateringly delectable, I can't even describe them. Ok, that was a lie. We had this amazing chocolate chunk souffle with homemade bacon & onion quiche with a perfectly flaky crust, sliced strawberries with creme fraiche, fresh coffee and orange juice... and that was just the first morning. We weren't looking for a B&B at first- just someplace relaxing and secluded, so the breakfasts were an unexpected bonus for us, and were... almost life-alteringly good.

Things you should pay attention to: The lake is very relaxing- I'd bring some bug-spray though, because where there is water, there are mosquitoes! Also, we were so exhausted from our wedding, we kept oversleeping so we didn't have much chance to go out for sit-down meals so we ended up eating a lot of Taco Bell & KFC for dinner- which is just down the road. However, they do have a nice little charcoal grill and picnic table (just bring your own charcoal) if you'd like to cook out, which we did once. There's also an ice machine in the lobby if you need to re-stock your cooler from time to time. Each guest house also has it's own free Wi-Fi if you need to check emails, and there is a microwave in the lobby. (Each guest house has it's own mini-fridge)

We adored the Tamarac guest house, and frankly the whole experience. When you're in an Inn or Hotel, you just can't get the same privacy you can with a cabin in the woods. We adored our stay, and frankly I didn't want to write a review at first because this place is a one-of-a-kind gem, and I don't want them to get over-booked so we can stay again and again! The hot-tub, the privacy, the view, the walking trails around the pond, the amazing breakfasts... we will be coming back. Soon.

This B&B has all the charm of a great B&B with a unique approach to breakfast. A delicious gourmet breakfast is delivered to your door in a quaint picnic basket. The food is on nice plates and trays. We chose to have breakfast in bed the first morning and on the patio the second. Still piping hot when delivered, I can't describe how delicious it was. The almond cream whip for the cherry pastrie with a fancy name I can't remember --yummmmy! Both breakfasts satisfied us until dinner.

Beyond the fabulous breakfast, the rooms are well-appointed, very cozy and romantic. The grounds are wonderful for relaxing with nautre. It is more expensive than a plain hotel room, but the nice environment and fabulous breakfast make it a good value. We highly recommend for a special, romantic weekend.

For us, this B&B was a stop-over on a longer trip. Attractions in the Wisconsin Dells and plenty of restaurants are within a 15 mile radius. We spent our day hiking at Devil's Lake State Park. .

This is truly a beautiful place. We've stayed at other B&B's throughout the country, but this one is unique that it is truly private. My husband isn't crazy about the typical B&B in which you sleep in a room in someone's house and neither do I, but this place solved that. Instead of rooms, this property offers four small individual cabins. If you are looking for tranquility, this is the place for it. The breakfasts were filling and delicious and special requests were no problem. And who can beat having them delivered to the door? They offer special requests, that I guess are only limited by your imagination and pocketbook.

If you want to get away from it all, this is the place for it.

Thanks again, Jean. You did a wonderful job and you have a beautiful place.

My husband and I stayed here for a treat to ourselves for our Birthdays. We have three kids 5 and under and have little time to ourselves. We had the opportunity to have a weekend away and took a chance on the Pine Grove Park. We are anti bed and breakfast people so we were reluctant. What a wonderful surprise! We stayed in the Prairie Smoke Guest room. It was beautiful, clean, well appointed. The breakfasts were to die for. We skipped lunch both days. We only left the room to eat dinner both nights we were there and still never saw any of the other guests which was a plus because it added to the "private getaway" feel. We left recharged, relaxed, and connected again. Very romantic, very quiet, very beautiful! The inn keeper does an excellent job of giving you everything you need for your stay yet also gives you privacy so you don't feel like you are "staying" with them. We will return!
