in a shady neighborhood but excellent pizza in a dated resturant/bar

I had lunch at this restaurant once about 20 years ago when the Wells Brothers were still there running the place. I had a chance to return recently and enjoy another great pizza. I can't speak for the rest of the menu, but the pizza is fantastic. Thin crust, great flavor, great selection of toppings from sauerkraut to shrimp. Great atmosphere, full of locals. Try fitting into the small bench seat in the bar area. You won't be able to sit there if you eat there often!

Wells is no longer owned by a Wells. It has changed hands and lots has changed with it but the pizza is the same, thank goodness.

We went for perch one Friday and I got 4 perch the size of smelt. My spouse complained and the manager said she can't get perch cheaper, which was strange since other places in Racine, you get a plateful for less. We were able to switch to a basic fish fry which was, well, okay. But really, one goes there for pizza and not the fish.

Their pizza has a flavor not to be matched, we only hope it's pizza stays the same as it has been in our 40 years of going there. It's the best. The waitresses have been there for years and some will probably still be serving pizza a decade from now!

The neighborhood has gotten worse but no one has had problems with security outside, but still be a tad cautious. The parking lot is well lite.
