“Our Winter Get Away”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2014

I know, not warm weather. But Rita and Dave provide all the warmth you need with their great hospitality and unmatched cuisine. The Inn is lovely and they are wonderful hosts. Port Washington is a gem of a small town but with ready access to many leisure activities. Highly recommend paying them a visit.

I was long over due for a week away, the Port Washington Inn was the perfect place. I did some site seeing in Milwaukee and Port Washington was just far enough away to get out of the hussel of the city. Rita was very knowledgeable of the area and her breakfest were exquisite and healthy. Beautiful place to stay I highly recommend it. Tim

We stayed two nights at the PW Inn because we could not get a room in Cedarburg the weekend of the Winefest there. What a fortuitous chain of events. The Inn is lovely, the breakfast was superb ( all organic and homemade) and the hospitality by Rita was perfect. Dave was out of town so she flew solo but did a very nice job at that. Highly recommend others give them a try.

My spouse gave me a weekend away with him in beautiful Port Washington, and we stayed here at the Port Washington Inn. Our hosts were warm and wonderful and the breakfasts are outstanding, and plenty of them! The room was beautiful and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it highly.

We spent a few days in Chigaco and decided to travel up to Milwaukee, WI to go to the Harley Davidson museum. We were looking for nice B&B close enough to Milwaukee but also far enough away so that we would not feel as if we were staying in the city. Port Washington Inn was a perfect choice! It is about 30-40 minute drive north of Milwaukee and it is a nice lakeside town. It has a few shops and good restaurants within walking distance. It is a nice place to relax. We also enjoyed shopping in quaint shops located in neighboring town of Cedarburg. The innkeepers, Rita and Dave, are very friendly and helpful and Rita makes wonderfully yummy and healthy breakfasts. We found the inn to be very clean and well cared for and would not hesitate to stay here again should we be in the area.

This inn was wonderful. The owners are very cordial without hovering over their guests. The location is in a quiet neighborhood, walking distance (down a steep hill) from the lakefront and the Port Washington downtown, which we enjoyed exploring. You are a few blocks from the Ozaukee county trail, which you can bike ride miles in either direction to other towns. Breakfast was excellent, and I felt like it was healthier than a lot of other B and B breakfasts. There is even a refrigerator in the guest common area, so you might store a few refreshments or things to eat for lunch out on the back deck. The house itself is a treasure and the rooms are comfortable, beautiful and spotlessly clean. We are going back!

Room Tip: Grace's suite has a balcony with a spectacular lake view.

Spent a few days in Port Washington, Wisconsin, only a few hours from Chicago. Lovely lakeside town, good restaurants and this delightful B&B. The hosts, Rita and Dave Nelson, were warm and welcoming and the breakfasts were all homemade, healthful and delicious! The B&B has been lovingly restored and furnished with antiques and reproductions and the woodwork is all original. On top of that Dave and his son make the most beautiful furniture, some of which is around the B&B. Comfy beds and close to the main streets. A nice getaway for a few days. If you like to fish, lots of charter boats available. We drove north to the Kohler-Andrae State Park - sand dunes on the lake. And took in a county fair.

Room Tip: There are only five rooms - ours was a suite and had a balcony with a lake view (in the distance...
