“Loved this place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2009

My cousin held her wedding reception here and everything was wonderful. The banquet hall was stunning. Everything looked elegant, the waitstaff was great and the food was awesome; especially the chicken.
I checked into my room during the reception and it went quickly.
Unlike the other reviews I have read, my room was clean and comfortable. Granted it was no Holiday Inn but it was exactly what I wanted.
Breakfast the next morning was good. Lots of choices to choose from like bagels, cereal, and pastries.
Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay at the Elizabeth Inn

As others have noted, the hotel needs renovation or to be closed. Our "non" smoking room, reeked of smoke; the sheets were thin and didn't stay on the mattress (no mattress pad), one pillow was so filthy I can't imagine how old it was. The room temp was about 80 without any heater on- we had the window open all night - both for fresh air and to regulate the temperature. I'm with a previous reviewer, it was so dirty I couldn't wait to come home and take a shower. Will not stay here EVER again! There are a couple other hotels (Hampton, AmericInn) nearby (1 mile) and it would be worth a few extra dollars to go there instead! Front desk seemed to have issues with check in - always a long line of people waiting!

We came in for a wedding & had a similar expierence as the reviews from 2005. Filthy room, paper thin dirty sheets and very smokey room conditions with cigarette burns on the bedspreads of a "Non Smoking Room"! Many of these bedding items need to be retired! Our childrens feet were black after walking on the carpet.

The staff was very friendly. The bar & banquet staff did a nice job under these low budget conditions. We had a great time at the wedding reception; however, I would not recommend staying there overnight if you are in search of any type of vacation attmosphere.

We are actually surprised that there are not any safety or health code violations. The pool area was very unsecure, broken doors, locks & windows. Entry door "B" which is suposed to only be opened with a hotel guest card, may be pulled open at anytime - which is also right next to the pool. Large holes under an exterior door that you can see expanding foam has been sprayed in the fall to keep the mice out!

This hotel / motel either needs to be shut down and completely remodled or retired! They management mentioned that out of town construction workers are a large part of their business. This may be the only reasonable use for this property right now - certainly not vacation. We value this property at about $19 / per night.

  • Liked — leaving so I could get home & take a clean shower! Also, bartender Bob was very good!
  • Disliked — sleeping in a terrible room, sorry, we expect more.

This place looks like an old Motel 6 on the outside and is working on a log cabin feel on the inside. Split logs on the inner hallways attempt to give the feeling of a cabin. The room was marginally clean but outdated. The chlorine scent around the pool was overwhelming! Sheets were very worn and almost translucent. Breakfast was light continental.

There are so many options in Stevens Point, however, on a very busy weekend, this was our only option. Next time, we'll try to get into something else.

We attended a wedding at Stevens Point on Saturday August 13, 2005 and arrived at the Elizabeth Inn on Friday. The room was ready and the personnel helpful, as we were waiting the arrival of many others in the family. It would appear that a great majority of the rooms were those of the wedding attendees. The pool area was clean and the spa also. The reception was also at the Elizabeth Inn and the food and service was excellent - the hall handled the large crowd and a good time was had by all. Sunday a room had been made available for us to hold our Sunday service. And yes, on Friday, my son did have to go to the vending machine to obtain a tooth brush - but no hard ship was involved. The maids/cleaning crews worked efficently and with expertise, bathrooms clean and towels replaced, beds made. Even though irons are not in the rooms, my daughter obtained one from the front desk. The Inn has recently gotten new owners and they are working hard at renovations and establishing good service.

We stayed at the Elizabeth Inn and Convention Center last weekend. My son had a baseball tournament in town and we wanted to stay close by. We did not have a good experience at this hotel.

Our room was not clean when we arrived on Friday evening. It was suppose to be a non-smoking room, yet it smelled of smoke. My husband requested a different room but that request was denied. I requested that the room be cleaned a couple of times over the weekend and each time they sent someone to clean but all that seemed to be done was that the room was sprayed with air freshener. The sink was not even rinsed out. I requested cleaning supplies myself but was told that they would take care of it. I cleaned URINE from the toilet and floor, wiped the shower, shower curtain and tub as well as the floor using the washcloths.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We stayed at The Elizabeth Inn for a wedding reception that we attended there. The customer service was terrible. No exceptions made for early check in at all. They wouldn't even look to see if the room was possibly ready. They do not supply any toiletries, except facial soap. No shampoo, lotion, etc. We heard another guest ask if they had a toothbrush because they had forgotten it at home and they were directed to a vending machine to purchase one! Also, the water is not safe for infants. The nitate level is too high and so bottled water must be used for infant drinking, formula prep. And guess whay? You have to get it from vending machines. We will not return.
