The inn has much to offer in architectural interest, but one locked gate to the pool, a blue tarp covering a worksite near the front door and cordoned-off stairs to the lower level make for the impression all is not ready for guests.
After a warm welcome from the host, he summarized the amenities of our room. Our suite included a roomy bedroom w/bath&whirlpool and a small sitting room with adjacent shower and toilet. The innkeeper remarked casually that we'd probably be using the whirlpool and if we didn't use the other shower, they "wouldn't have to clean it." Really?! About $200 a night and he hinted we might refrain from using the entire suite? Both wooden toilet seats were chipped/damaged on the inner rims. The sink in the sitting room drained very slowly because the stopper was stuck in the down position.
