“Great Hotel in Milwaukee area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2011

I have been working in Milwaukee for over a year and have stayed at this Red Roof Inn from the very beginning. The hotel staff has gone out of their way to make me feel comfortable. The rooms are nice and clean. They always smell nice and the beds are always the same. Whenever I have had to make any changes, the staff is very accommodating and have tried to help out however they can. I would highly recommend this property to anyone coming to the Milwaukee area.

Room Tip: All fo the room are away from the road so noise is not an issue.

This has kind of become my go to hotel when I am in Milwaukee on a budget. The location is very good, especially if you are flying into nearby Mitchell Airport.

I originally planned a one night stay to go see the Brewers in NLCS game six. When that game got moved from an afternoon to and evening game I extended to a two night stay.

Both nights were in King Deluxe rooms. The first night the room I stayed in the safe and the refrigerator did not work. I wasn't too concerned but when it became a two night stay I asked for a new room so I could secure my personal items.

When I called down to Cheryl at the front desk, asked to extend my stay and change rooms the response was, no problem at all.

Rooms are clean and the second of the two rooms I had actually had a thermostat that allowed you to dial up the exact temperature that you want and both the safe and refrigerator both worked fine.

Both rooms were clean and had a nice desk/working area and I love that they have the free wi-fi throughout. Only suggestion would be to add a few more selections to the television channels available.

If you are looking for good, clean, accommodations on a budget, you should use this property.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the second floor of the back building. And if possible get the king deluxe.

We stay at this Red Roof often, and find it very nice. The staff gets a rating of ten, Especially Cheryl. They are so nice and friendly and go out of their way for you. The rooms are nice and clean, and everything works. Showers are great! It`s also so quiet there, we have never heard any outside activites. The police in the town do a good job patroling ALL the areas in town so you feel safe. Never a problem there and will always go back.

We booked two rooms for a Saturday night.

Good: Having the doors open to the outside instead of a hallway, was nice. There were a lot of events going on in Milwaukee, but we never heard any late night arrivals. Dogs were next door to one of our rooms and weren't even aware of it until the next day. Good location, quiet, beds were comfortable. Good location near the airport and I-94.

Not so good: Took over 20 minute to check in. Clerk wasn't that busy and rooms were pre-paid. Rooms looked clean upon arrival, but when we wiped up a spill on the back of the desk chair and on the TV (traveled with grandson), the washcloth was filthy. Changed my opinion on the cleanliness of the remainder of our rooms. In one room, the nice curved shower rod was almost falling off the wall. Bathroom walls looked "stained" and there was some mold/mildew in the corners of the tile.

Bottom line: For what we paid, it wasn't bad, but would try for a different hotel in the same area next time.

The door was not secure and they took forever to replace the coffee maker.
you are better off going to Ramada or Econolodge.
For the price that you pay you will get a full channel line up, a shuttle, great breakfast and of course better service. No racists or petty losers at the other ones. If you encounter some named Christa, look out for her pretending not to notice any of your complaints. She revels in the misery of female guests. Male guest are a different matter. Same goes for Sherri from Honolulu, HI.
The newspapers will not be provided on Fridays. You may expect one price but will see another on the bill. You cannot say or do anything. Please look for another hotel.

We stayed @ the Red Roof Inn for a weekend trip to Milwaukee. The room was clean, the shower was excellent, the air worked wonderfully on a really hot day and the bed was pretty comfortable. It's literally minutes from the city and great for anyone on a budget. Would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Stayed in the Superior King room...it rocked!

We had a "walk-in only" coupon to use and I called the hotel to check on room availability on the date we needed to stay. He said there should not be any issues, but that he would go ahead and reserve the room ahead of time and still honor the walk-in price. When I called, he had people in the lobby and was nice enough to offer to call me back so the people in line would not have to hold and neither would I. When we arrived the service was great also. We had 4 rooms and they were all very nice and clean. We will definitely stay again if we go to Milwaukee in the future.
