I actually heard a lot of bad things about this place from guests that have stayed there previously, but figured I was just going to use the pool for an hour or so and it shouldn't be a big deal for me. I called ahead to use the facility to take my boys swimming (ages 14, 8 and 7). The clerk at the desk told me it was $5 for as long as I wanted and the pool closed @ 10pm, but that the jacuzzi was broken. We showed up and when I tried to pay before we went in, the clerk couldn't get the credit card machine to work. She said because the jacuzzi was broken, they weren't busy and the credit card machine wouldn't work, that we could just go ahead and not pay this time. When we were finished my 14 yr old and 7 yr old went out to the car ahead of me. As he was walking out the manager yelled at him, " are you going to pay for your room??". My son explained that we just came to swim and that I was coming out right after him. As I walked out, the same thing...she yells, "did you pay??". I explained that the clerk (standing right next to her) stated that I didn't need to pay this time because of the credit card machine not working and the jacuzzi was broken. She said "NO- YOU PAY!!" I was a little stunned at how she was yelling at me, but gave her my credit card. She said "Why don't you go get some cash! I'm assuming she meant she wanted me to go drive to a tyme machine, which I agreed to - but they tried the card again. They were trying to get someone to help them on the phone as the manager was complaining about me not paying. The clerk was very nice and professional and seemed embarrased by the managers behavior. She yelled, "NEXT TIME YOU BRING CASH!" When they finally got the credit card to go through the manager gave me the card back and said "YOU CAN GO". I said, "Do I need to sign something or do you have a receipt for me?" She yells at me " THIS IS A FAVOR WE DO FOR THE COMMUNITY TO LET YOU USE THE POOL, THIS IS NOT A SERVICE WE PROVIDE-IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT THEN DON'T COME BACK." I said I'm not trying to be difficult, I just want a receipt for the transaction you just ran through my credit card. She said she couldn't give me one. I insisted that I needed a receipt - so she hands me a HAND WRITTEN receipt that says "$16.00 pd for swimming"! UNBELIEVABLE!?!?! The clerk meekly says I only charged you for 3 people so it was about $16.00. The manager points her finger at me and says NO- FOUR PEOPLE! Okay, obviously she doesn't know her math either. I can't believe the way that I was spoken to and treated. Never once did I argue with her or fight the fact that I needed to pay, but yet she treated me like I was some kind of criminal or juvenile delinquent. I went home furious at how I was just treated (especially in front of my 8 yr old son) and told my husband about our experience. He called and spoke to the woman I had just delt with and she said that I was not her guest and she couldn't give me a receipt. He told her that this was unacceptable and that we wouldn't be back. She somehow calls him back about 30 min. later and asks for our address so she can mail a receipt to us. Funny how now she can figure out a way to get a receipt, huh?!?!?! She's right about 1 thing - I will NEVER EVER go back and I'm going to spread the word to everyone I know, including contacting the Mukwonago Chamber of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau. How can they get away with treating their customers this way????
