It was a pleasure staying at this hotel. From the moment we checked in to the day we checked out, we were pleased with the service from the very pleasant staff and the quality of the amenities. The room was quite large with a nice view of the lake. The beds were comfortable and the kitchenette was much appreciated. The shower had plenty of hot water and an adjustable shower head with a good spray pattern. The pool, while not overly large, was very refreshing, especially after a soak in the Jacuzzi that was just the right temperature. We really enjoyed the free breakfast in the mornings that included a wide variety of both hot and cold items. We would definitely consider staying here again when we're in the area.

Dear Guest,

First, let me say that I'm glad you enjoyed your stay at The Pointe Resort & Club timeshare resort.

However, to clarify, The Pointe Resort & Club and The Pointe Hotel & Suites, although neighbors, are two separate business entities. Although the name Pointe is in each entities name, each has it's own private ownership, management and hospitality teams and operate completely separate of each other. This is sometimes confusing to the traveler and this is the opportune time to clarify who we are...just so you and others know.

Again, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay at PRC.

Our recent stay started with a long wait at the front desk (along with another couple) No service bell to ring, so we just stood there wondering........

the room was impressive at first impression. We went out on one of the decks that the room had and found a dirty diaper.

My step-son and I went to use the pool and most hotels ask you not to bring room towels down to the pool because they have special 'pool towels'. So, we hopped in the pool, went to find the towels when we were done, and didn't find any. So, we walked, dripping wet back to our suite.

The space of the room was amazing. At over 800 square feet, about the size of our house....but, when you started looking, there were cracks, molding coming off, a large hole in our bathroom door, etc..etc...

It fell short of my expectations........

Dear Guest,

Thank you staying with us and for the review of our property. Our guest's input is always appreciated.

Our Front Desk Associates are never far from the Guest registration area unless they are attending to a personal need or a guest request. If there is not a manager or fellow team member available to cover their momentary absence, a sign is displayed at the registration area indicating their return momentarily.

As for the diaper incident. I do apologize for this situation. Our Executive Housekeeper has met with her team to reiterate the importance of checking all deck and patio areas, even during the winter months when they are seldom used.

Pool towels can be acquired at the hotel's front desk, just steps away from the pool area. At check-in, guests are provided verbal and written instructions of select, important information that includes pool hours of operation and where to acquire pool towels.

We have great pride in our room maintenance program. I have personally inspected this room finding nothing out of order other than the small 1/2 inch hole caused by a door stopper towards the bottom of the bathroom door. This has been rectified. I am interested in finding out more about your room concerns, please contact me toll free at 888-356-4431. Thank you.

When you visit Minocqua in the future, I hope you will give us another try by choosing The Pointe Hotel & Suites as your "home away from home".

We spent 2 nights at The Pointe in a studio whirlpool suite (bldg 4) and it was amazing! We snowmobile and the access to the trails, gas, restaurants & trailer parking was great. The hotel was so quiet at night it was almost like we were the only ones there. After a long day on the sleds the whirlpool was relaxing and we slept great. We enjoyed the continental breakfast (fresh hot waffles included)! It was nice having the fridge and microwave for snacks & wine/cocktails in the evening. And a full size coffee maker for getting going in the morning. We will absolutely be back.

Room Tip: Bldg 4 is the furtherest (but not too far) from the pool & lobby so no hallway activity.

We just got back from a long weekend at your hotel. All i can is WOW! We had a blast and loved our whirlpool suite we were in. We went up with friends to do some snowmobiling and ice fishing and with access from the hotel to the lake it made things a breeze. As for our room, it was amazing. We had our own little kitchenette, a living room with a view of Lake Minocqua, and our own bedroom that had a whirlpool in it. Plus, to top it off, the bathtub in our room had jets in it. We really didn't get a chance to 'roam' around the hotel, but it had a lot of great amenities such as a lap pool, hot tub, DVD's you could check out to watch in your room if you chose to do so, a continental breakfast, a gift shop, and a very cute check in area. All I can say is that we will definitely be back next year to stay!

Dear Guest,

Thank you for the wonderful review. We are so glad that you had a great experience. Our resort hotel offers such a unique location for all seasons recreation and ease for visiting attractions, restaurants and shopping. Every guest room offers what we like to reference as our "natural amenity" the beautiful waterfront views of Lake Minocqua. I'm glad that you thoroughly enjoyed your Suite; even though the lake is frozen, it still affords an inspiring view. Thanks for being our guest; we look forward to hosting you next year.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2014

I try to rate hotels based on the class/category and price point, With those qualifications, I would say this is a *fantastic* hotel in the 3 star category range. Now before you jump all over me, my 5 stars are reserved for true 5 star establishments (The Ritz in Battery Park, the Chatwal, St, Regis, etc) with 4 stars for the less gran places like the Westins of the world (if they deserve it). The Pointe doesnt fall into those categories (nor does it pretend to), but it has its appeal and I think people in WI will love it! is in a fantastic location over looking the lake, which was beautiful in the winter and I assume spectacular in the summer. .

Built in the late 80s, not much upgrading has occurred, but the place is comfortable enough. The rooms are of a decent size, although the one bedroom suite only had a queen bed (and there is a pull out sofa bed in the living room). The bedding is on the cheaper side and not very plush. Luxuries are nonexistent (think robe, bottled water, nice bath soaps and hair care products), but there are two TVs, and the kitchen, albeit older has a full sized fridge, microwave, dishwasher, stove and working ice maker. The rest of the furniture was a little in the cheap side, yet fully functional.

The free hot breakfast was a hit in the old conference room, but was lacking in fresh fruit and lighter fare items. Although they did have plenty of waffles, biscuits and gravy, sausage and hash browns if your craving meat and carbs.

I will let them slide on the poor fitness room- b/c there are so many outdoor activities, your butt should really be outside for your exercise.

The staff was friendly and welcoming as well. All in all, i would say this place would be perfect for a budget conscious family wanting nice lake views and access that doesn't need fancy or updated rooms
