Although the hotel was outside of the city center, a ride down National Ave. would get us to where we were going. I was most impressed with the maid service. One day we didn't leave the room until 1 p.m. and we never felt pressured into leaving sooner. The room was always cleaned up well when we returned in the evening. The room was large enough for two adults (my son, age 25, and myself), with two confortable double beds. The front desk was helpful. The New Colony Bar was a very nice place to visit in the evening. We would definitely visit this hotel again.

“Decent, but nothing special”

Best Western Woods View Inn

This hotel met my requirement of being affordable and within walking distance to Miller Park. The room was a good size and everything was clean. The bathroom was smaller; the door was right on top of the bathtub, which was slightly irritating.
I agree with the other reviewers about the parking situation... the lot is very cramped and there are very limited spaces, although I was told I could park in the spaces on the side of the building (the hotel is also part of an apartment building). I came back around 1 am one night and had to wedge myself between a car and a motorcycle - it was the only space left.
The other reviewers were also correct in saying the walls are thin. I knew when the people above me were in their room; I could hear every step they took. There were also a group of teenagers on my floor who were giggling, talking, and hopping from room to room. That got old really fast for me; I heard everything they did in the hall. Fortunately, I didn't spend much time in my room.
The elevator is small, old, and slow; stairs were quicker. I used the elevator only to get my large suitcase to my room.
The immediate area surrounding the hotel is fine; there is a medical facility across the street and there is a 24-hour McD's, Starbucks, etc., on the corner of Miller Park Way and W. National. But I do not recommend using W. National Ave. to go downtown at night. It did not appear very safe, and someone from Milwaukee confirmed my suspicions. During the day, it's okay to drive.
This hotel is perfect if you are looking for a place easily accessible to Miller Park and are not going to spend much time in your room.

This Best Western isn't the cleanest or in the best part of town, but
it's decent enough for the low price you pay. It's within walking distance of Miller Park and has good access to roads and highways to get around town. The wireless internet is also a plus.

It's a good place to stay if you're just in town for one night, especially if you're going to the ball game and/or won't be hanging out at the hotel.

The place is pretty clean, but parking is not a cinch and you have to carry bags up a few stairs no matter what. The hotel says it has a gym, but they actually drive you off 10 miles to another hotel that you can utilize. Good internet connection, though. The continental breakfast is very refreshing in the morning and they have a couple computers that you can use.

Lastly, if you are going to Milwaukee for the sole purpose of catching a Brewers game, this is the hotel to stay at.

“Will stay again - great for sleep only stays”

Best Western Woods View Inn

My husband and I stayed here one night during the WI State Fair. The fair is just down the street (within walking if you like longer walks and the weather is good). Miller Park is even closer. The hotel has limited parking - snag a spot earlier and use public transportation if needed. We had a king-size room. Nothing fancy - we've stayed at places like this all the way to very nice hotel suites. This is not a vacation hotel; not entertaining for kids; not fancy. The room was small - no fridge/microwave/ nothing extra. The bed was clean and comfortable; the bathroom was small yet clean; we didn't hear the other rooms or hallway noise (which is surprising because there is a decent gap under the door). The person who took my registration was very nice and helpful. The front desk clerk checking in/out were both very helpful and approachable. The continental breakfast had: toast, bagels, english muffins, variety of muffins, oranges, cereal, juice, coffee and tea, milk. Nothing huge but enough to get you started - nicely laid out and clean area to eat. This is an older, traditional hotel. Good place to sleep - not a vacation resort.

    • Tips/Secrets: — Look close; easy to drive by. Is not set-apart from other buildings - look for Woods View sign.
