This hotel met my requirement of being affordable and within walking distance to Miller Park. The room was a good size and everything was clean. The bathroom was smaller; the door was right on top of the bathtub, which was slightly irritating.
I agree with the other reviewers about the parking situation... the lot is very cramped and there are very limited spaces, although I was told I could park in the spaces on the side of the building (the hotel is also part of an apartment building). I came back around 1 am one night and had to wedge myself between a car and a motorcycle - it was the only space left.
The other reviewers were also correct in saying the walls are thin. I knew when the people above me were in their room; I could hear every step they took. There were also a group of teenagers on my floor who were giggling, talking, and hopping from room to room. That got old really fast for me; I heard everything they did in the hall. Fortunately, I didn't spend much time in my room.
The elevator is small, old, and slow; stairs were quicker. I used the elevator only to get my large suitcase to my room.
The immediate area surrounding the hotel is fine; there is a medical facility across the street and there is a 24-hour McD's, Starbucks, etc., on the corner of Miller Park Way and W. National. But I do not recommend using W. National Ave. to go downtown at night. It did not appear very safe, and someone from Milwaukee confirmed my suspicions. During the day, it's okay to drive.
This hotel is perfect if you are looking for a place easily accessible to Miller Park and are not going to spend much time in your room.
