...for starters the service was terrible...i stood there with my money out for ten minutes(hand in air, class room style)while one of the bartenders talked, and drank with a friend at the end of the bar.It was not even crowded. Then i started waving a lil bit...i didn't want to be rude and scream the 'tenders name, the tender looked and blew me off again.Soon another bartender emerged from the bowels of the pub carrying supplies saw me and said are you being helped? i said no and started to say what i required and she promtly cut me off and said hold on the other tender will help me. She says to the other tender can you help this gentleman? he looks over and nods in my direction, she dissappears into the cellar and he turns back to his conversation.
i start to say my beverege name in louder tone so the tender could here me at the other endt of the pub and the buzz of the few customers, and the tender looks at me as if i shot kennedy and says-hey, dude you don't have to scream and get an attitude, now mind that it is going on 17-18 minutes now and i've not been served and 'i have an attitude' Needless to say when the tender reaches for a napkin to place my drink, i politely picked up my money and said that's ok, i took my business elsewhere. Well mayby in retro spect the tender was having a bad day,as he looked very unkempt and hungover, since he was doin shots with the customer . I'm from newyork and we have many euro style pubs, however never service like this or a bartendr as shabby!
mayby the nomad only serve people in their clique. If you don't like smoking this place is definately not your style, even for the tlil time that i was there the smoke was very strong inside, and the door was open! my clothes reeked of second hand smoke, milwaukee has not passed any non-smoking legis yet. The bar itself was a cozy sort of place the decor was cool and they had a nice big t.v.! i remember them having soccer shirts on the wall a long time ago when i was there...the place seemed alot more friendly then.
