“A piece of France in the middle of Milwaukee”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

A medieval gem in the heart of modern Milwaukee. A mass was said in my Dad's memory here and it couldn't have been more moving. A true treasure.

“Peace and quiet in the middle of a busy city and campus”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012

Catholic or not, this small historic chapel is worth a quick stop. The gardens outside were beautiful. Once you push that heavy wood door open you enter another world. Inside read about the chapel, say a pray, reflect or just take in the beauty. One of a kind chapel in the heart of a city

“Tiny, profound piece of history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2012

I went to a Wednesday night mass here while my brother was still attending Marquette University some 10 years ago, but I'll never forget it! It was a mass full of college kids, the priest was really laid back, and people sang really upbeat hymns while sitting on the floor. Other than to attend for a service, it is a magical little building. It is VERY tiny, so cool. This really is a must see for anyone who has ever been to church, or anyone who likes libraries (funny thing to say - but if you like the library, you must like the quiet, right?), or anyone who likes history. You just feel nice being in there. The tiny building was brought over from France and reassembled right in Milwaukee. It also has a large stone in the back - I can't quite remember the story - it might be that St. Joan of Arc had touched it something, or it was the stone that was nearby when God supposedly told her to fight, or something like that. Anyway, it is always cold, regardless of how hot the chapel or the weather gets. So that's neat. It is a real jewel and not to be missed!

“An amazing experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2012

St. Joan of Arc Chapel is a little-known Milwaukee treasure in the most unlikely setting. A 15th century (!) chapel, brought over from France and reassembled first in New York, and then on the Marquette campus, the chapel is a must-see for anyone interested in history. It's a simple, beautiful little building that transports you to another time and place.
