This Basilica is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. We visited during the Doors of Milwaukee event and spent a great deal of time in the church. I took many photos to capture the sheer beauty of it all. A volunteer spoke to the crowd about the history of the Basilica and we enjoyed our visit to their shop as well.
This Basilica looks nice on the outside, but inside it is absolutely breathtaking! Just look up, look around, it's all beautiful. I think they have tours sometimes, but you can just walk in if you're there at the right time. I would definitely recommend any musical events here to combine the ear candy with eye candy. You could attend Mass while you're here if you wanted, but you don't have to be Catholic to appreciate how beautiful this place is. Definitely stop by if you're in the South side of MKE.
Very beautiful. Once youre inside, everything seems bigger and more spectactular; almost as if you are in Rome.
Well worth the stop at this beautiful church. I have not seen a dome with this splendor in the U.S. during our visit, we found out that the architect modeled the church after St. Peter basilica in Rome.
No tours that we could see; there is a visitor information brochure in the vestibule.

No words can describe how beautiful this church is. Every inch is covered in detailed artwork. They have tours available which help give more info and the basement has a very well laid out timeline to read about how it started all the way until today. Highly recommend. Neighborhood not so good.
