Though somewhat hidden away on a side street (but it does have its own free parking!) this is well worth a 1 to 2 hour visit. Newly created in 2012 from the lifetime collection of a local lawyer
whose office was also in the house this museum relates the "LIFE AND TIMES" of Milwaukee
during the 1920s, 1930s and into the 1940s. Well spaced and non-wordy easy to comprehend
exhibits with a different theme to each room, eg: office, nursery, grocery, cobbler, barber shop, local and national politics of the era ..... and, of course for Milwaukee, a realistic speakeasy (not that I speak from personal experience please understand!). If I had any criticism it would be that the embarrassing story of the Bund in Milwaukee and its neo-Nazi ideology was strangely missing, or at least air-brushed over. Even if you only have 1 or 2 days in Milwaukee and are history oriented be sure to come here.
