“Great children museum”

Loved the butterfly room and every floor had something engaging for the children. I would highly recommend it to families and anyone interested in natural history

“Loved the variety”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2014

We spent several hours here and couldn't get enough! We were so surprised at how big the collection of exhibits was. My favorite was old Wisconsin. Our only problem was our feet gave out before the exhibits did. Great work!!! Only complaint was stuffiness.

“Adult Field Trip”

Some friends and I, all college students, attended the Body World exhibit and Museum. It was humid once you went above the first floor.

“Constantly changing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2014

This are of Milwaukee is chic, and fun,etc.. Seems like theer is always something new moving in. Nice place to walk around on a nice sumer night. This place was a run-down warehouse district when I was a kid and has been transformed into a hot spot.

“Great Museum!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2014

I love the Milwaukee Public Museum.

I have lived in Milwaukee my entire life, and I still go to the Museum to see the same things, as well as their new exhibitions.

I went in February to specifically see Body Worlds. I believe the price for this was $16 a person, using my student ID. Student's do get a discount if you can show them your college ID.

Once you purchase a ticket for the exhibition, you are open to the entire museum. We went through the Body Worlds exhibition first, then wandered around the Museum. They have things such as, "Old World Milwaukee", an area where they created a replica of what Milwaukee used to look like. There is at least one store in this area that sells candy from this time period as well, things most people have probably never heard of.

One awesome part of the museum, is the butterfly room. If you have never been to the museum, it sounds strange. The Museum has a room they designed with real butterflies that you can watch, as well as let them land on you. The Museum Employees help you and tell you what to do in order to not scare or hurt the butterflies, and how to get them to land on you. (If you want to do this, wear bright clothes).

There are a few hidden things throughout the museum. I believe the Indian area is on the third floor. There is a fake rock platform preventing you from walking onto the display. They have an area with an indian as well as other animals set up in a desert scene. Look for a rattlesnake on the ground on the right of this area. Look under the rock platform near the rattlesnake, and there is a button. When you push it, the rattlesnake's tail goes off for as long as you hold the button. Something cool that they don't point out to you.

Overall, the Museum is a great experience. Also attached is the imax theater if you're interested in that, and can handle the giant screen.
