“Don't do it unless you are a glutton for punishment!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2012

Everything on Water Street was packed so my boyfriend and I decided to check out the almost empty Red Rock Saloon. We soon figured out why it was so empty. Customer service doesn't exist. The twenty-somethings behind the bar were to busy talking about the night before to bother with two paying customers. Originally going to have lunch, with it taking 15 minutes to get a beer (no lie!!) decided to order two appetizers. The food was mediocre at best. Refills? Nope, we were never even approached again. Clear empty plates? Nope! This shouldn't have been too difficult considering we sat at the bar and there were 5 employees behind the bar. 5!!!! We had to ask for our check and then the bartender was really nice. I don't get anything that happened during the visit? Are they there to make money or what?!

“Average BBQ”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2012

We went for dinner on a night when they were participating in a pub crawl so the crowd was 21 - 23. It was nice however to find a quiet refuge upstairs. The menu was impressive and the variety of wings they offerred was nice. We chose the 2nd hottest wings on the menu with Habenero sauce and were disappointed in the reputed heat level. BBQ sandwiches and burgers were average. The service was very good!

“A bar that serves a Blood Mary without condiments???????”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2012

OMG, this place is in business for food service only because they are down the street from AJ Bombers and get their "strays". We ate here on our way to an Admiral's game. I wish we had waited the 30 min. at Bombers. Tell me how you serve a bloody mary in WI without a pickle or an olive? How bad does a burger have to be before someone won't eat it? The chili was "okay", but in a "cereal" bowl for $8! The pork sandwich did not have enough meat for the big [--] bun....and none of it was warm. The onion rings were a serious joke.....greasy with the breading off of the onion. Had the place not been so busy, we'd have returned it all. Oh, $8 for 8 buffalo wings. We were one of the first people in the door for food, so I don't know if they don't use heatlamps or if the server just didn't pick up the food timely. Either way, you got $85 for a crappy lunch for 2 adults and 2 kids.....but NEVER AGAIN!

“Go for drinks, not food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2012

We went with a Groupon (4 sliders, an order of wings and two sides) on a Saturday afternoon.

We ordered a pulled pork and brisket slider each. The sauce on the pork was definitely better than that on the brisket, however, neither of the meats were cooked properly and were both tough and somewhat flavorless. A real shame!

The wings were average. We specifically asked for them 'very crispy' and they came out flabby and soft. They also were also some of the smallest wings I've ever seen, with very little meat and lots of bone. We ordered them with 'totonka' sauce, which was a good buffalo sauce. The sides of onion rings and garlic mac and cheese were both very good.

The service was pretty much nonexistent. We waited an inordinate amount of time to be approached by a server, and that only happened when we asked someone. Once placing our drink orders it took a minimum of 15 minutes for us to receive them.

There were lots of TV's around--much more of a sports bar type atmosphere.

We were both very queasy a few hours after finishing our meal, and would recommend skipping the food entirely!

“Best Bar-Q amd Wings in Milwaukee”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2011

Really enjoy the food at Red Rock, but there wings, alone, is worth the trip!! We went on a friday night for my husbands birthday, and a group of people, and had the time of our lives. They have a live band on friday, and the place really gets going!! The only mistake I made, was to ride the mechanical bull, after a few drinks, and I had bruises inside my legs for weeks! Other than that, We Love This Place!!!
