“Small rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

The king guest room was so small. When we opened the door, it hit the nightstand, so very cramped. The bathroom was the same way, door would barely hit the toilet when open. The king best was amazingly comfortable but we would have liked to have a bit bigger of a room.

Dear Katies
I am happy to hear that you were able to rest and have a great night’s sleep! As a historic hotel we have many different hotel room layouts. As a company that strives to reach and exceed our guests’ needs and expectations we are always happy to showcase other room options to our guests who may have had a different expectation upon arrival. Our goal is to ensure your visit is memorable and enjoyable and we look forward to offering this to you in the future.

Stayed one night while visiting Marquette. Easy walk to campus. Took shuttle from airport at hotels suggestion which is a deal. Shuttle is picked up at desk at 3rd baggage claim. Hotel is a unique and beautiful experience. Hilton Honors lounge is huge. Old world feeling everywhere. Staff wonderful, particularly manager, Brandon, that allowed late check out and delivered new room keys to us directly. Very friendly and formal at the same time.

This is a 78 year old hotel, but yet maintained very impressively. Very good break fast options, though a bit too pricey. Rooms were clean and good, amenities were excellent. Got a corner room with a great downtown view - in 14th floor. Front desk was very helpful, entire staff were courteous and welcoming. Excellent Parking facility in downtown. The biggest issue was there was no laundry onsite.

Room Tip: Higher floors are good.

Most enjoyable 1-night stay to visit Marquette University in Milwaukee. Downtown Hilton is the premiere place to stay for price & value. Professional staff & all necessary amenities available. Great location to 3rd Ward, Bradley Center & Old Third World establishments

Our team came to Milwaukee for a large international conference at the Delta Center, and some of our courses ended up in the Hilton rather than the Delta Center (as well as some of our guest rooms). The conference rooms were great (especially the beautiful Empire Ballroom!) and staff members like Victor, Lisa, Ruiz and Craig made our lives very easy. Also, free wifi. Yes please.

Guest room was a standard nice room.

Nice refurbed rooms in a large historic hotel building. The lobby area and bar nicely appointed too but these areas are not staffed...The basement bar/grill is the place to grab a drink but it is a sports bar so not ideal for business or reading a book after hard days business. Starbucks attached but closes early. Chophouse also in building but very expensive. The hotel needs something in the middle. It feels like a major hotel but without the full service aspects one would expect.

Dear photoiq
Thank you for the review and the great pictures to go along with it! The Monarch Lounge located adjacent to the main lobby does provide full beverage service and dining opportunities starting at 5pm daily. Throughout the day this area is designed to be a “tech-friendly” area, offering our guests the use of complimentary computers and printing capabilties (separate of our Hotel Business Center). We also invite our guests to relax and enjoy the soft seating and the live entertainment which is provided every Friday and Saturday night. The Miller Time Pub has just completed a renovation of the entire dining room. This area too now provides a lofted dining area which will offer our guests an opportunity to relax in a more comfortable lounge environment. We do appreciate your feedback on the dining experience you encountered and look forward to showcasing the new Miller Time Pub and Monarch Lounge on a future visit to Milwaukee.

I pre-ordered food items to be ready on arrival and unfortunately they were not. I called and requested the items and Nate of the Room Service staff went above and beyond by not charging us for the items and for treating us to dinner. I was highly impressed by the Hilton's response to our small inconvenience. The room was great and the stay was perfect. Thank you Hilton!
