We usually stay in the suburbs when we come to Milwaukee. With so many festivals during the summer months, Milwaukee hotel prices can skyrocket. But a February trip gave us the chance to stay downtown for a good price.
The Doubletree did not disappoint. Check-in was a breeze and our Hilton HHonors comps were all available without any reminders on my part. We found the hotel to be very clean and were given, as requested, a quiet room on the top floor. Everything in the room was in good order, from the fridge and microwave to the in-room safe.
This hotel has valet-only parking for $15 with in/out privileges. The valets were super-speedy and I appreciated not having to walk to/from and through a creepy parking garage.
The breakfast buffet had a good variety of both traditional and healthful choices. There was plenty of fresh fruit, oatmeal, cereals, breads, pastries, eggs, pancakes, bacon/sausage, among other items. We also enjoyed an evening drink in the hotel bar before heading out to dinner.
I have no complaints about this stay and it may actually have convinced us to stay downtown during summer trips. There's so much within walking distance and I think you would get more out of your Milwaukee stay by being downtown. Happy travels!
