“Gets the job done”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

This hotel was good, not great, and not awful. But it gets the job done. Got the room really cheap through a 3rd party website, which I'm probably not supposed to mention the name of here.

Pros:
1. Nice decor/fixtures.
2. We were booked into a double bed room, but when I asked for a king, they said no problem, and even gave me an executive king. This was a nice room which had a separate sitting area with TV, separated from the main bedroom by short hall, bathroom off this hall.
3. Front desk staff helpful, friendly.
4. Nice view of the city from our window.
5. Housekeeping staff did great job. Also, I even accidentally left my debit card and $20 on the desk when we left room, still there when we came back.

Cons:
1. Walls REALLY are paper thin. Could hear a guy having a conversation in room next door our first afternoon there. This morning, I could literally hear the person next door packing, could hear the hangers in the closet being pushed together, the zippering of a suitcase.
2. TVs while new and flatscreen, are small (we like to watch movies in our rooms on vacation).
3. Bed was not comfortable, despite a featherbed on top. Pillows WERE very comfortable, however.
4. Room service menu pretty limited.

Overall, I would stay there again for the price I paid, but prob not for what they book for through their own website.

“Great hotel and location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

We spent one night at the Intercontinental, and were very pleased with the service and condition of the property. The location is right downtown, and within easy walking distance to restaurants, attractions, and museums.

Room Tip: Don't be reluctant to ask for an upgrade, especially if you are a Priority Club member, which yo...

“It was the little things that mattered that made the difference!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

I had an opportunity to stay at the Intercontinental Milwaukee earlier this week. From the greeting, which was courteous and professional at check in, to the valet who not only retrieved my bags and put then in the car for me, but also started the car and made sure it was warm when I began my drive home, to the staff recommending a wonderful restaurant and then asking the next day about the reservation, the service and hospitality was excellent, and reminiscent of a smaller, boutique style hotel rather than a large downtown hotel. But what put this establishment over the top for me, was over breakfast - my friend and i were eating at the Kilowat restaurant on the second floor, and being early in the morning, the sun was shining brightly. Without either of us asking for it, one of the servers came on his own, and closed the shutters to prevent us from squinting at one another. This last act, reinforced to me the culture at this hotel of excellent guest service, professionalism, respect, and a genuine desire to make it the best possible stay and leave a very positive impression. All the people I interacted with during the stay represented the Intercontinental brand exceptionally well and I will definitely be staying here again.

What a joy to be able to compliment our employees who make such a difference in our guests stays. Yes, you really do understand what we try everyday to cultivate, and when we manage it and someone shares it...well...it's wonderful. The only thing better is knowing you plan on returning. We shall look forward to serving you again. Thank you for allowing us to "pay it forward" with our employees.

“Just one night stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

We were in Milwaukee to attend the Milwaukee Rep's "A Christmas Carol" at the Pabst Theater. Stayed at the Intercontinental and didn't even have to go outside to get to the Pabst Theater!! Hotel exceeded expectations. Excellent staff, bar, and food. Very comfortable room. Truely outstanding. Reserved room was not ready at 5:00 p.m. when we attempted to check in. Staff went out of their way to make it right. We were in by 6:15 p.m. Would certainly stay again.

“An awesome place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

My boyfriend and I stood at the InterContinental for a getaway weekend and we were positively surprised. We got a great deal with $120 per night- it still seems a little pricey but it is well worth it. The hotel has a lot to offer. Make sure you try their restaurant Kilowat on Floor2! Everything is modern and artsy and definitely gave us the wow effect. The room was tidy and clean and the receptionist was very helpful. Some of the restaurant's servers could be more professional, but besides we would stay at this hotel any time again!

Room Tip: We had a King Deluxe and the pillows we slept on were just AMAZING and comfy!

It is so gratifying to hear from a guest who has used several of the amenities we have. Your description of modern and artsy helps others get a good picture of what to expect. I am so delighted your special getaway weekend was all you had hoped. We hope we have the pleasure of your company again.
