“Cozy and awesome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

The hotel is cozy and tucked away from other hotels. We arrived on a Sunday so we received a mid-week special rate. Also, because it was a Sunday, we were able to park on the street. The Valet workers gave us the phone number for the Milwaukee police to call and let them know we'd be parking on the street that night. We ate dinner out on the patio and it was lovely and the food was great. Our waiter was funny and took good care of us. We stopped in the bar for a drink before heading to our room. The bar was also nice and the bartender was very friendly. The room was very classy and the sheets were wonderfully soft. I would highly recommend this hotel for a great place to stay in Milwaukee.

Prior to the Eagles announcing their Chicago dates, the closest venue was at Summerfest in Milwaukee. I had been planning a large party for a big birthday for my husband 6 days after the Milwaukee show and thought it would be fun to surprise him with these concert tix and sneak in a short get away just prior to the party. I was looking for a very nice hotel, close to Summerfest. When I saw the Iron Horse, I knew it was perfect!

We were not disappointed. Such a cool hotel! The loft rooms are exactly as shown in the online pictures. I loved the casual feel of this upscale hotel! We arrived just a little after 3 on a Sunday and our room was ready. I had booked a king loft, at checkin they said we were getting a upgraded room . I think this upgrade was to a slightly larger room on a higher floor. It was spacious and very clean. The bathroom was also very large. Loved the high ceilings and the bed was very comfortable.

We had a late lunch at the loft shortly after arriving. Great food with live music.

Took a cab to Summerfest, but afterwards hard to find one and it was an easy walk back.-just about a mile.

We only stayed one night at the Iron Horse- wish it was longer! If we ever have reason to stay in Milwaukee again- I wouldn't think twice about where to stay!.

A friend of mine who works for the Brewers recommended this hotel for my visit to Milwaukee because it is 'biker friendly.' I wasn't sure what that meant when I rode my Harley there from Boston earlier this week - but I honestly didn't expect much. My expectations were exceeded. Not only is it biker friendly with motorcycle parking spots and other conveniences for those on two wheels, but it's just simply a great hotel - from the decor to the room design and amenities to the service - it is a fantastic place to stay. Bottom line is that there are a lot of high-end hotels in Manhattan and Los Angeles that could learn a lot from the Iron Horse in Milwaukee.

Harley rider or not, this is the place to stay in Milwaukee. I'm in branding and marketing and these people have it down. Not only is every small detail achieved, they talk about it and it makes it really fun. For example, on the breakfast menu it states that "Captain Obvious says you shouldn't eat raw meat or eggs." BRILLIANT way to say that, funny, fun, and in total keeping with the branding of this hotel. The reason it works is because it's all TRUE. They are clean, organized, super friendly, have fantastically decorated and designed rooms. (Our room looked out over Harley Museum - was perfect). We had the Wisconsin cheese platter delivered when we arrived and were really glad we did. Yum. Thursday was bike night and there were lots of bikes, all managed perfectly by valet. Can't say enough good things about this hotel and it's people. So...get there...on two wheels or four - you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Looking at HD Museum was nice view. Higher up floor probably best. We were on 5th.

We are so fortunate to have Company B, our Marketing firm, be the driving force behind our branding efforts. From menus, design, history and service all work seamlessly together to tell the story of the Iron Horse. Thank you so much for the review!

No detail has gone unnoticed at the Iron Horse Hotel! This place is quaint & swanky without being pretentious. The service from A-Z was second to none!! If you think it's a bit pricey, save a few bucks & stay at one of those boring chain hotels....just remember that you really DO get what you pay for!

We stayed in room 205 which is a Custom Deluxe with a king size bed. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the valet folks and a very professional staff at the front desk. Check in was quick and within minutes, we were headed to our room with complimentary cocktails. The hotel is amazingly clean and has a very welcoming, rustic feel. We had talked about canceling our plans to head downtown and just stay at the hotel taking advantage of the outdoor bar and resturant. The room was very clean and just as described on their website. No disappointments. The railroad tracks ran next to our room and as a light sleeper, I did not lose sleep due to the few trains which pass by in the night. There were no train horns and what we did see in the morning, the train moved at a snail pace minimizing notice.
We had breakfast at Smythe. It was very yummy but a bit price but the convenience and friendly staff offset the few extra bucks.
