When I work in Milwaukee, I always stop here. Having lived in Italy, I really appreciate the regional cuisine. The menu set up the traditional way with antipasti, primi, and secondi plates. Tonight I had a great dry cured beef appetizer to begin, somewhat similar to a carpaccio. The arugula and cheese provided a nice balance. I next had a halibut cheek special. I selected the pea and onion side, rather than Gorgonzola mashed potatoes my father had. Both were excellent. I finished with one of the most inventive summer desserts I've ever had. It was lemon sorbetto served in a glass with limoncello and prosseco. The presentation was great with these chilled foaming bubbles covering the frozen sorbetto.
The service was fantastic from before we set foot in the door. As I tried to let my parents out to find parking, the host flagged me down to let me park in the loading zone. Our waitress, beyond being heartbreakingly beautiful, was also extremely knowledgable about the menu and the wines.
The atmosphere is elegant yet casual and I felt very comfortable in a suit and tie while my parents were comfortable in less formal attire. There was outdoor seating available, which I might enjoy on my next visit.
