“Worth the wait”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

If you're looking for great bar food, this is the place! While you might have to wait in the standing room only bar, a Spotted Cow on tap will make it go quickly! Once you sit down, try the fried mac and cheese...deep fried childhood delicious! The Sobelman burger and the Chicken Sobelman are beyond yummy...next time I would order the burger without the fried onions. The sweet potato fries were average, but I think that might be because the jalapeno ketchup that is on the tables is SO amazing with the regular fries! We also visited the Sobelman's at Marquette, and the food was on par with the original. Overall, worth the wait!

“The best burgers in Milwaukee”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013 via mobile

We oftern visit Sobelnans because the burgers are the best in town. I would recommend the hangover. They also have great appetizers to include deep fried pickles, cheese curds and deep fried macaroni. This establishment is also family friendly.

“BEST BURGERS!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

Really neat, old bar, no frills, but really a great burger, still love the Loser burger and better than A.J. Bombers. We had the cheese balls with bacon and jalapeños for appetizer, was a good new addition. Don't go if you are an impatient person wanting a typical chain restaurant burger. Friendly service,

“Great for Sunday Funday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Went to Sobelman's JUST for the Bloody Mary on Sunday. Feast in itself. Pretty darn good burgers too but I had NO ROOM for them (had just eaten at McBob's).

“Just ordinary”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Went to Sobelman's this past Sunday after reading about their fabulous famous burgers. We were greatly disappointed. If this is Milwaukee's best burger, someone needs to ask for a recount. We waited over an hour for a table which we thought, hey if this many people are here these burgers they must be all they are touted to be. It was not worth the wait. They serve a sizable burger but has little taste to it and was rather dry. It is fried rather than char-grilled which would have added considerably more flavor to an otherwise run of the mill sandwich. Honestly the best part of the burger was the bun. There were four of us and we came to this same conclusion even though each of us ordered a different style of burger. The waitress did an outstanding job of taking care of you, it was jammed pack full of college kids who obviously needed a hangover remedy and opted for this burger to cure them:) The atmosphere is lively and fun, but the food is nothing that you cannot get any where else. I don't like bloody mary's but the others in our group did order them, they said they were again average in taste but non-the-less a real novelty with the slider burger on top them. To each his own and it's obvious many people really like these burgers we just didn't find them outstanding enough to warrant a re-visit at any time.
