“OUR PERFECT WEDDING AT THE PFISTER”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

On January 26, 2013, we had our Daughters Wedding at the Pfister. What a perfect day it was! From the 1st process, which is the financial end of it made 5 months ago, to the end of the reception, everything was perfect. And the Pfister made sure of it. You might think that this hotel is too expensive to have a wedding here. But not so! I soon realized that the Pfister Hotel comes with a lot!! They do not nickle and dime you to death as other places do. I searched for 6 months prior to booking for the perfect place. The Pfister was it. What is nice, is that it comes with a Wedding assistant to help you through the thick of it and make it a perfect day. Sarah Geitner was our girl and she was amazing. Everything was top notch and absolutely perfect! The food was also delicious. Everyone was commenting on how wonderful the food was. The wait staff was excellent.
This was truly an exceptional experience! I could not have been more pleased. And, as the mother of the bride, I had only perfection in mind. They met it and more! We also had great rooms available to all our guests. We stayed in the older section. Just lovely. Not big rooms, but the beauty of them make up the difference. Our rooms were discounted and the bride and groom got a suite free of charge. I don't live in WI, so it was a challenge to put it all together. But with the assistance of Sarah and her team...we did it and beautifully! A Big Thanks to everyone at the PFISTER! I will be back!

We stayed at The Pfister Hotel on 2/9. Our hotel stay was a gift from our daughter and brand new son-in-law, it was their way of thanking us for assisting with their recent wedding. We arrived at the hotel at 1pm expecting to be told that check-in wouldn't be until 3pm, we were pleasantly surprised to be told that our room was ready.

Lobby: The lobby of this hotel is breathtakingly beautiful. The ornate architecture takes you back to another era when craftsmenship was important. By far one of the most beautiful hotel lobby's that I've ever seen.

Front Desk: The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and very efficient, we were even given some great ideas of local places to try for a late lunch.

Room: We stayed in a king room (#2007) located on the 20th floor of the tower building. Our room was very spacious and comfortable and the best part was the incredible view facing Lake Michigan. The late night view of downtown Milwaukee was just beautiful too. Noise level from the hall, elevator and neighboring rooms was a non-issue during our stay.

Bar: We enjoyed a late afternoon cocktail at the Blu bar. We sat at a very comfortable table near the the windows that offered floor to ceiling views towards lake Michigan and the city. I could have sat there for hours enjoying the view. The service was good and the cocktails are stiff. The drink menu at Blu would satisfy even the most fussy customer.

Location: Perfect. We love to walk and explore downtown Milwaukee and the location of this hotel was great. It is a few blocks from the lake front museum, less than a mile from the BMO Bradley Center, and a short walk from the river front walk-way that is an enjoyable walk even on a breezy February afternoon.

We will definitely return to this beautiful hotel.

Room Tip: Definitely ask for a room located on an upper floor of the tower section.

Thank you so much for sharing about your experience here with us!! And we are so glad that your daughter and son in law decided to give this to you as a gift. Aside from the breathtaking ascetics, as you mentioned the people here really are what make the difference. Again thank you for staying with us and we truly hope your travels will bring you back again soon.

My husband and i came to Milwaukee to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. This hotel was beautiful. Historic and ornate. We checked in rather late and they showed us to our room, we were suppose to be in the tower with a room facing the lake. The showed us to a room NOT in the tower with a room facing a brick wall. We almost just let i t go and then we thought, hey this is suppose to be a special weekend let's say something. We went to the front desk and they said they didn't have any rooms left in the tower, but they could show us another room in the hotel that we may like that faced over the street. However they said it was on the second floor and over the street so noise may be an issue because of the two story open lobby. We checked it out anyway. The room was much bigger and the view of the city was great. No noise was heard. We switched room and were happy that we did. We walked all over Milwaukee that weekend it was lovely to be able to just leave the car in the parking garage and just walk. On Saturday when we got back from dinner there was a bottle of champagne, a box of truffles and a note set up for us when we got back. Assuming it was from one our family members, we kind of laughed it off. I opened the note - it was from the Pfister Hotel Staff! We had casually mention to one of the workers that it was our anniversary in passing. She must have remembered and set this up, what a great surprise and great customer relations! We loved our stay here, we were originally a little disappointed that we did not get the tower room we had reserved, but in the end we were very happy with our stay and would return in the blink of an eye. Thank you Pfister for a great weekend!

My company booked me here for a function and I had some reservations at first. However, from the moment I walked into the lobby I felt at home. The staff is top notch and the accomodations very nice. The attitude of everyone from the front desk, bell staff and cafe was terrific. Beyond professional in that everyone interacted with the guests.
I didn't have time to get the whole story but the various lions, trabal warrior and other surprises in the elevator convinced me to check my sobriety. Great time!!!

Room Tip: I'd go for the newer tower out back. A friend of mine had a beautiful room on the corner of the...

Thank you so very much!! We are truly blessed to get to work with such great here that love what they do. And as for the Lions and "Tribal Warriors", the lions are named Dick and Harry and the Tribal Warriors are called the Pike Men. Both were gifts from Chapmans when they closed in the first half the 1980's. And we ALL thank you and ALL look forward to seeing you again. Best Wishes and Safe Travels.

First stay at the Pfister- excellent experience. When you walk into the lobby you enter another time- gorgeous mural ceiling, sweeping staircases, a beautiful hotel. We had some drinks in the lobby bar. Friendly bartenders and they seem to know their stuff. Other guests at the bar were also friendly and outgoing. Many restaurants wihin walking distance, as is the bradley center and Waterstreet. Milwaukee is a great town and this is the hotel to stay at. We stayed in the tower- excellent views of the city and a partial view of the lake.

Unless you love crowded, dark bars, stay away from Blue on the 23rd floor. Pretty view but not worth the pretension.

We walked to a Bucks game, nice walk along the riverwalk. Find Fonzi!

Decided to spend a weekend close to home (Chicago to Milwaukee) and because of Trip advisor, selected The Pfister Hotel, to spend the couple days. It was cold, but that was okay,it was February, so what do you expect, but the hotel was warm and welcoming. Staying at a one of the oldest hotels that has been remodeled is always a pleasure, the architecture, the people know how to treat you and yet you have all the comforts you look for in a hotel. We spent the first day on our arrival in the hotel, used the spa (got a massage) and visited Blu for tea and those little sandwiches, and then happy hour back up in the Blu bar, this is on the top floor of the hotel, so the views are breathtaking. Later, we just had an appetizer in the Lobby bar and every thing we had there was top shelf. The next day we went around Milwaukee and did the usual tourist thing, Miller brewery, the Milwaukee Public Market, The art museum, and a small cheese store (we were in Wisconsin) and ended the day with dinner at the Metro restaurant. We'll definitely go back when we can walk around the city, visit the zoo, do the lakefront and maybe one of the fests. This hotel is the place to stay.

Room Tip: I'm not sure there's a bad view, we went with the cheaper room that had a view of the city a...

Our three-night stay at the Pfister in early Jan. was a great getaway. We loved the spacious suite, hallway art galleries, swimming pool and views, Victorian tea, Mason Grill, and Wellness Spa. It was a birthday celebration for us, and they brought us chocolate covered strawberries and champagne, and a box of Swiss chocolates. The attentive and friendly staff was always helpful and responsive to all our needs.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet area since they have weddings and parties on some parts of the hotel.
