“Meets the basic needs.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012 via mobile

Hotel was chosen for us. Was ok, but definitely not luxury. Very basic accommodations. Four of us stayed in a double queen, not very spacious. Parking on site, $10 per day. Recommend unload luggage at front door prior to parking, as valet is not standard in this establishment. Ok place if you need a decent place to sleep and don't plan on spending much time in the room. Bathroom not great, but, again, served its purpose. Not sure if I'd stay again.

Having said that, excellent service from one employee in particular in the breakfast room.

“Never, never stay here”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012 via mobile

Husband booked this online because it was near a business meeting. In the future I would walk five miles to the meeting rather than stay here again. When we arrived we were "greeted" by a surly young woman who, while not downright rude, was certainly able to communicate what a hassle it was to have to check us in. We went up to the room and immediately noticed that it was freezing. Then I went into the bathroom and unfortunately looked up at the vent grill: coated with a thick fur of ancient dust. I've seen cleaner air ducts in the NYC subway. Ugh! We called down to the desk: nobody picked up. We waited and called again. The person at the desk said they would send somebody to fix the heat. Fifteen minutes later nobody had come up. We waited some more. Nobody. Then we called again and told them we needed a different room. They moved us to a much better room, which had heat. But the bathroom vent, while not disgusting, was not clean. Thebtiwels were thin and not particularly absorbant. Some good points: the young man on the desk in the evening was polite and helpful. The second room we got was large. The bed was comfortable. But that is not enough. Never, never will I stay in this hotel again.

“Summerfest Crash Spot”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

Booked a King Lake View Suite online. Arrived & they had us in a King room with a garage view.
Complained about it & the lady that came up made it seem like a hassle. Showed her my confimation & reiterated that I was a Choice Member. She seemed like I was a hassle & didn't wanna be there. She told me I would have to contact "corporate" because they show I booked a King. Told her no I would not be contacting anyone & that was her job. She went down to the front desk & called back to say that "corporate" was not answering. A few minutes later she arrived at our door & said we'd be moving to another room.

Room had a seperate portion that had an arch divider with bedroom, living room area & wetbar. Bathroom was a pretty good size but the pros stop there. Too many cons to name but hallways are dimly lit, dingy with the moldy ceilings essentially falling in. Parking is a nightmare cause you have to leave your keys at the front desk because they have someone moving them around all the time because there's like 50 cars & 20-30 spaces. It is free though!

This was a drunken crash spot after summerfest but would not recommend it for much more!

“don't stay here!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

This was the worst place I have ever stayed. First, we booked a room with a lake view. There are no lake views from this hotel. The parking was free but a joke. Cars park each other in so you might have to leave your keys at the front desk. The rooms are old and dirty. The ceilings are falling down and there is severe water damage. The staff must all hate their jobs - they act like they are not happy to be there or to help you. The elevates we always broken. It was so dirty and run down that we refused to eat the breakfast there.

Room Tip: There are no good rooms here...stay someplace else if you can.

“Lots of Sub-par makes for overall Poor”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

We stayed at this hotel as part of a wedding block of rooms. Of our party, two friends had to move rooms because they couldn't get hot water or heat, and one of those left the hotel altogether when the second room also didn't have hot water or heat.

While we were there, two rooms in our party received phone calls at an odd time in the morning. They didn't answer the calls, but we later learned that someone was calling around to all of the rooms pretending to be hotel staff and asking for credit card information.

When we were down in the lobby and the hotel staff was dealing with these phone calls, the manager and owner seemed completely uninterested in dealing with anything, and the staff were not at all well trained in how to take care of the situation.

It was also very unprofessional of the staff to talk loudly about the issues in front of several guests, and complain to each other about their jobs, also in front of guests. There were several occasions when we were in the lobby and overheard remarkably unprofessional conversations, including yelling at the maintenance staff.

Overall, there were several decent things about the hotel. The rooftop patio has a nice view, but they don't maintain it (just a few plastic chairs thrown about up there). The bar was very clubby, but was actually quite nice when it was otherwise empty.

The internet was horrendous. I haven't had internet that slow since the nineties.

Oh, and there was stuff that would drip from the ceiling of the garage that I don't think will come off the the car very easily, according to some of the other reviews here.
