“Hopelessly horrible”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

Run as fast as you can, and as far away as possible away from here. When we arrived, we waited for 30mins because guests were lined up with keys that were not working. When we finally got served, we discovered the elevators were not working and they were no carts, so we had to carry all our luggage up to the 4th floor taking two trips to do this. Finally when we got into our room, there was a moldy stench, it was just unbearable. The front desk then decided to look for another room and was taken aback by the smell. He agreed that it was just too pungent and apologized. He did finally find us a room that smelled a little less. I would not sleep here again for free. The staff was great, but the hotel is just not up to the Hyatt standard.

Room Tip: I don't recommend this hotel, try find another, this one is not worth the price

Please accept our most sincere apologies for the issues you experienced during your recent stay at our Milwaukee property.

It was brought to my attention that one of the two elevator cars had an internal board malfunction recently, rendering it unusable, however, the second car should have been fully functional during that time. Regardless of this, our night house person should have offered to help you with your luggage. Please accept our apologies that this assistance was not offered. I cannot offer an explanation for the guests with key cards that were non-functional other than to say that these cards are frequently demagnetized from close contact to cell phones and other electronic devices. Finally, we pride ourselves on providing clean and fresh smelling rooms daily and will be meeting with our housekeeping department to determine if there was something extraordinary that could have caused the smells you encountered. This is the first comment that we’ve received regarding unpleasant odors in our rooms and we appreciate the feedback.

Please feel free to contact the hotel directly if you would be willing to give us another opportunity to show you that this was the exception, and not the normal high standards that we pride ourselves on.

Even if you are in town for something downtown, stay here! This hotel is convenient to lots of restaurants, local hospitals, airport and expressways. It is so simple to get to the downtown or waterfront as well.

The hotel is clean, well maintained and offers excellent guest services. The breakfast and all night menu/beverages are a nice touch. We have stayed here for all three of our visits to Milwaukee and will continue!

This hotel is very conveniently located to the airport with easy access to downtown Milwaukee. The rooms were clean and quiet, and the service was good. The beds were very comfortable, especially the pillows. Parking was easy. The shuttle was also quick.

The family needed a hotel because our flight was leaving 5am the next morning. The Hyatt is very nice place. Beds were comfortable. The extra space to watch TV and stretch out was nice to have. The Pool was clean and my daughter had a blast. The shuttle service the next morning made the stay complete. If I need a place to stay, I will definitely stay here again.

I stayed at the Hyatt Place before going to Mexico. The front desk was friendly, and the hotel shuttle to the airport was prompt. The continental breakfast was the best free breakfast I've ever gotten at a hotel. There was fresh fruit, and fresh hot breakfast sandwiches. Even my dad was impressed, and that says a lot. The room was very clean. I'd stay here again!

We wound up at the Hyatt at the advice of family members when our usual spot was pretty full and had jacked their prices. We might have found a new "usual spot" in the Hyatt: First, it's convenient and easily accessible. Second, it has very nice and large rooms. As mentioned by others, the layout is somewhat different and we liked that very much. Third, the breakfast is several steps up from the usual "hot breakfast" offerings: Two choices of egg sandwiches, pastries that were significantly better than the powdered donut variety, and fresh melon and pineapple (instead of a bowl of apples and oranges). Last but certainly not least, the coffee was not the tasteless watered-down variety -- quite drinkable!

There is also a small food & beverage menu available, although we did not take advantage of that. Oh yes, at the check in area there is a case with cookies and other sweet concoctions. We didn't take advantage of those either, but the strategic placement (especially when you walk in at 11pm after a REALLY long drive) makes them quite attractive.

On to the amenities: Towels were soft as were the sheets and luxurious comforter. The mattress was a bit soft/sagged in for me, the only disappointment. Hence the "Very Good" versus "Excellent." I expected with the high quality of the hotel that it would have a superior mattress because at the end of the day (literally) it's all about sleep quality.

All in all, the Hyatt likely will be our new go-to Milwaukee spot -- an excellent value in every way.

Just okay.. staff and environment seems snoody. Housekeeping does a good job. Poor customer service. I personally did not love the layout of the room, seems kind of cramped. Breakfast is alright. Decent small pool but no jacuzzi. Rooms show signs of age/wear.

Average for the price. I enjoyed the Hampton Inn a lot more.
