“The customer is always wrong, combined with bland food. Skip!”
Two visits within the last few weeks - both failures.
Visit #1 came when I responded to their roadside sign touting the NCAA basketball tournament. I sat at the bar and asked for a menu, received my drink and then looked for the game. It was on one of three TVs in the bar, a TV I could not see because of the Corona banner hanging fomt he ceiling. The large flat screen wasn't even on. After waiting probably 15 minutes to place my order (an eternity when alone) I gave up on ordering food. The bartender was the only wait staff in the bar and he was having an EXTENDED conversation with a table of two. When he finally came back he apologized for the delay - which shows how long it had been. It wasn't as if he was overwhelmed, there were only 7 or 8 customers in the place, he was just inattentive and inefficient.
Visit #2. They have happy hour until 6pm. We arrived before 6 but it was a minute or two past 6 when our waiter arrived. I asked our waiter about the happy hour, assuming he would say yes but he refused. Even after I pointed out it was before 6 when we arrived he still refused.
Our food arrived quickly but it was bland and unappetizing. The jalapenos tasted like pepperacini, not jalapenos. The tortilla chips were basically tasteless and the supplied salsas were so low in the serving container it was difficult to get any.
In summary, indifferent service, bland food, fairly high prices. SKIP!
