“Great stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2011

We stayed at Country Inn & Suites on Sept 4th. Check in was smooth. Hotel is very nice. Warm cookies await which was nice. Closest restaurants: Perkins and Sparx across the highway. Otherwise your basic Burger King and fast food is a few blocks away. I believe we got what we paid for we had paid the same price and stayed in worse our previous 2 nights. The whirlpool/pool area is a nice clean area.

We stayed here for a nearby wedding. The rate was over $100 and that was the special wedding rate. The rooms are quite old - no flat TVs, cracking tile grout, older bed spreads, etc. It did seem clean. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice. The breakfast looked nice also, but we didn't have anything other than coffee. I wouldn't go out of my way to stay there again and I think their price is about $30 too high for the quality of the property.

My daughter graduated from U.W. Stout in May but after having a horrible experience at another hotel in town we found this one and what a lucky find it was. The staff was always friendly and the rooms were always clean. Plus parents of students get a discount on their room which is always nice. I will miss not staying here anymore as it was great knowing we had a place to stay that would always be clean and comfortable!

Room Tip: If you are a parent of a Stout student be sure to tell them to get a discount!

The stay was pleasant for the evening, after being with family, but now are dealing with their dishonesty. They are claiming that my elderly parents smoked in their room. They did not-mostly because we are ALL have allergies to smoke. The worst part of this is their so called "manager" that was extremly rude to my elderly parents on the phone and to us. She even refused to give her name. I work in the public and this was handled very poorly on the phone on her part. They even could not even give accurate room numbers on the phone. So if you want to save yourself after your trip-stay away from here. They do not deserve your money (which they will try to sock you for more) Worse yet they have ruined the chain for us.

We were driving through a snowstorm and got this far before the roads became too dangerous to get any further. Turned up at desk as a walk in and got a good rate. Staff very friendly, room clean and slept well. Pool is nicely set away from rooms and open until midnight. Hot whirlpool thing also. Late checkout was good as we could wait for all the snow to be cleared before we set off again. Food and the like within walking distance (e.g. 24hr perkins).

My family and I stayed at this property recently, on a Saturday night. We had prebooked reservations at a rate of $70/night. Overall, our stay was pretty good. We arrived at the hotel late (9PM or so) and in the midst of strong summer storms and a tornado warning in town. We asked the desk clerk about this, she told us how the hotel would handle, etc if we needed to duck for cover (did not have to, warning was cancelled). The clerk then said they were shutting the pool area down for the rest of the night just in case. I was a little disappointed with that as I wanted to use the hot tub. We got our free cookies in the lobby though. The rooms were very nice, especially for my family which has a 10 mo old infant. They were subdivided suites with a separate bedroom - perfect to put our baby in one room and close the door to our bedroom so that we wouldn't disturb her sleep. Everything was clean and ready to go. Pool area was nice - I used the hot tub in the AM. Breakfast was very good, nice selection of hot and cold items. Overall, giving this property a solid 4 stars.

We (husband, 17 year old son, and I) stayed two nights at the Menomonie Country Inn & Suites. We had a King suite, and it is the largest motel room I have ever seen. It had more floor space than my first house--no exaggeration! Usual amenities, plus chocolate chip cookies that kept getting replenished at front desk (my son appreciated those repeatedly). Location was safe but not pretty. Looks out on the back of small shopping/business center. There is a walking/biking trail nearby, but no restaurants or bars within walking distance. I would recommend the Stout Ale House (5 minute drive) for food, etc. Menomonie is a nice little town--we enjoyed our visit.
