“Great Service and Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2012

Food was great, portions were generous, service was outstanding. We were seated in the bar area on a busy day, but the waitress took our orders right away and the food was served quickly. I have to say, my sandwich wasn't as hot as it could/should have been, but it was very good. I had to take half of it home because it was more than I could eat.

“hit or miss”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012

We went there on a Friday evening. Not bad of a wait..approximately 30 minutes for table. Place was packed!! Had two cocktails at the bar than was seated. Waiting staff was awesome!! Ordered the fried Walleye and Fish Fry. Salad was cold and fresh, bread was warm and the fish was amazing!! We really couldn’t get over how great the food and serve was. We enjoyed it so much we came back on the following Wednesday…that was a totally different story. Ordered the seafood artichoke appetizer which took at least 20 minutes and was luke warm on the outside and cold in the center, the chips where staled. Salads were warm and wilted, mushrooms were brown. Soup was good. We both had the Walleye, one pan fried one deep fried. Fish was okay, the deep fried Walleye was no were near as good as Friday night. Service wasn’t very good. Wednesday night was a disappointment. I guess Friday night is the night to go.

“Good, but a little pricey”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2012

Blue gill dinner was extremely fishy/dirty tasting. Shrimp cocktail was warm. Rest of the meal(s) were great.

“It's OK - -But nothing to go gaga over.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2012

The Beach House can be very nice - -on occasion. Usually a crowded, noisy bar, which is fine. The dining room definitely needs a makeover -- not scuzzy for sure -- but a tad on the "worn-look" side. Service and staff - -very, VERY nice - -and caring. That I've always liked. The food? Let's just say I've been there many times, and will go back many times- - but I've learned to be extremely selective. The best bet is a Sunday morning when you can get a prime rib or walleye with eggs- - get there before the huge crowds, or it'll be quite a wait, and the food can be uneven in preparation and taste. The scratch soups would be wonderful, if not for the enormous overloading of salt in their preparation - -I've returned the soups- - especially the turkey/veggie a number of times for that reason. The rest of the menu is OK - -nothing real special. They used to have a Tuesday night special of one burger free with another ordered- - that's long gone, much to my dismay. The size of the burgers has also shrunk. All-in-all (I have heard that it is now under new management, but can't independently verify that), it's a good local stop, but keep your expectations in check.
