“Gorgeous old house with lots of hip accents”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2011

We stayed one night in the Riverview Suite, a splendid, spacious room on the second floor with great views. The linens, towels, and pillows were all of high quality and were much appreciated, as were the bottled waters in the room. We also enjoyed the Jacuzzi tub for two and coupons for free martinis at the M&M Victorian Inn's martini bar. Delish! A big thanks to Annie for that!

Breakfast was somewhat disappointing--two fried eggs with some locally-produced bacon, a small serving of yogurt and a small handful of fresh raspberries. Somehow we expected much more in terms of quantity and creativity from the in-house chef, whom we had read and heard so much about prior to our arrival.

The Mariner Theater is just around the corner, and we saw a great second-run film for $4 each. We also had a great burrito at the Blue Bike Burrito shop across the street from the theater.

We did not have any issues with the train noise--but we did notice that the ambient music in the lobby was on all night and we could hear it in the room. If you are a light sleeper, bring your Simply Sleep.

We stayed in the Balcony Suite at the Lauerman House Inn for one night at the end of June while in the Marinette area for a family reunion. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with a huge jacuzzi tub and a plush, cozy bed -- exactly the tonic we needed after a day of being assaulted by the heat, mosquitoes and ticks of the Wisconsin woods!

The manager of the property could not have been sweeter or more accommodating. She even gave us warm hugs hello and goodbye.

There's a full bar (on the honor system) on the main floor of the inn and a scrumptious-sounding breakfast served daily, though we didn't have enough time to avail ourselves of either, unfortunately. But the manager was kind enough to put coffee on for us extra early in the morning before we had to leave.

Note: the inn is across the street from a train track. If you're a light sleeper, expect to be roused during the night by the trains that whistle by regularly.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Lauerman House Inn, and if we had to be in Marinette again, would definitely return.

My husband and I stayed at the Lauerman house on a Friday night at the end of July. We were pleased to see the neatly decorated exterior and stayed in the Kiwi room which was decorated in lime green and nice bold primary colors. The woman who greeted us, aside from being EXTREMELY long-winded, was very nice. They have a cocktail lounge that is on the honor system and was stocked with a good supply of NA items as well, which made us very happy as we are both non-drinkers. The bed was cozy, the soaking tub was ridiculous in a great way. The breakfast was delightful too.... we were served what appeared to be buckwheat pancakes that were topped with caramelized peaches, maple syrup and golden raisins. My husband is a big egg eater and asked the chef (Chef Blake from Atlanta) to make him a couple of eggs, and it was done in a snap. We were very grateful. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and would DEF recommend it to any and all of my friends.

Room Tip: Go for the Kiwi or Balcony suite

We actually stayed in the sister inn, M&M Victorian, but spent more time at the Lauerman. The M&M is undergoing some changes and though we had a beautiful room, our best experience was our time at the Lauerman. More trendy in its decor, the Lauerman has a lovely bar setting with a view of the river. We ate at the restaurant and it was totally upscale fabulous. We also came to the Lauerman for a very elegant breakfast the next morning. If we were to do things over, we would also have booked our room there. Our room at the Victorian was lovely...huge bathroom, whirlpool tub, lovely decor, etc. There really isn't much to see or do in Marinette, but we loved our stay and visit with the owner, Jeanne. She's a fabulous host who makes sure all of her guests receive the best treatment and a really fascinating person. Our reason for staying in Marinette was the drive up to the waterfalls near Dunbar. But we would highly recommend the stop just to stay at the Lauerman. Terrific.

We stayed at the Laureman House on a Sunday night. What a wonderful place to stay. We were with our two children, ages 8 and 5. The Lauerman House has two rooms that can accommodate the children. We stayed in the purple room. It was very nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable. My in-laws also stayed in the room next to ours. We were the only guests and had the place to ourselves. We enjoyed having the common areas to play games, have cocktails/beer and snacks (which we provided). Johan was wonderful. He answered any questions we had and also made us a wonderful breakfast. Thanks for the wonderful stay. I wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be back.

I spent two days at the M & M Victorian Inn and the Lauerman House Inn in Marinette with colleagues of mine. The Inns were amazing!! Very different but offering the same level of service. We had dinner two evenings in the Lauerman House Restaurant with a bigger group. WOW!! Their new Chef Joel was creative, wonderful presentation and the dining room is so upscale. Johan the manager was very helpful and knowledgeable with wine. You can tell that he has been educated on a hight level!!! We loved the bar and the choice of single malt scotches. We would recommend this to any person staying in Marinette!! The owner Jean also adds a lot of flair to the Inns. She rents her lovely villa in France as well....Our next trip....Quite the operation for a little town.

While staying at the Inn for business, my colleagues and I had excellent service from Tabitha. From the reservations to checking us into our room, to even getting directions and facts of the home. Unfortunatly, the "manager" Johan seemed very rushed. It was almost like he was lingering to make sure we didn't do anything wrong. We also met the Chef and he was very pleasent. My recomendation is that they promote Tabitha to management.
