I've been going to Crockett's yearly for 7 years without incident. I called to reserve a cabin a week prior to Memorial Day and requested closest to the pool since we planned to spend most of the weekend there. We arrived and were assigned a cabin. The cabin door wouldn't open due to curled flooring, once I pushed into the cabin the floor I was unable to uncurl the linoleum. Also the refridgerator door wouldn't stay closed. I returned to the lodge to report problems and noticed the pool wasn't even filled. I was very upset since I requested this upon making a reservation and no one even mentioned it over the phone. Nor had the lady mentioned it when I checked in. The lodge employee even took another reservation over the phone while I was standing there and didn't mention the pool being closed! Poor lady got an earful from me! They switched cabins for us, and apologized about the pool. The kids and I were very disappointed as the weather was beautiful and we had not packed any games or other things to occupy our time. I drove back to our new cabin to unload and all the kids left to explore the lodge. They arrived back quickly since the lodge was now closed! No where was a check in time mentioned to me and if I had arrived 15 minutes later they would have been closed for the night and I would have been out of luck! I'm glad I arrived when I did! The lodge had no holiday weekend activities, which they always had in the past. The lodge was not open when listed on the window sign, only sporatically was the staff available. There was very little for sale in the store, it is usually well stocked with needed items. When the time came to check out, surprise! No one was staffed in the lodge. I was so disgusted with our stay this year that I won't be back. John and Nancy as management are missed. There is no longer anyone who has any cares about the way the place looks. Everything looks neglected and deserted. There weren't very many campers there- only 3 tent sites in the entire place were occupied, all the rest were seasonals. There were trees down, debris all over and the cabin area was not tidy. Out of 12 cabins, only two were occupied for the weekend and the other cabin was only for one night. It's too bad, this place used to be great.......
