“A Worthy Project”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2012

If you want an example of people doing inspiring things for the right reasons, take a tour. They cannot do this alone.

“Magnificent!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

Although I had read about the ARA Project, I happened upon it with a friend almost by accident and, thankfully, we were given a complete tour even though we had made no advance arrangements. It was one of the peak experiences I've had since moving to Costa Rica a year ago. I can't say enough good things about what we saw, what we learned, the dedication of those in charge, the hard work of the volunteers, and the beauty of these birds. Please go and donate generously.

These birds are so beautiful! This is a worthy cause, and wonderful to hear all about the birds from Jennie, my guide.

“A One-Of-A-Kind Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

Today it is unlikely that you will see a great green macaw in the wild. It is the goal of the wonderful volunteers of The ARA Project to change that. Through their breeding and release program, the ARA Project volunteers are returning endangered great green as well as scarlet macaws back into the wild. Great green numbers have diminished due to loss of habitat and unavailability of their primary food source. At ARA, volunteers are training these magnificent birds to expand their diets and thus increase their ability to survive in the wild. Because of the dedication of these volunteers, you may one day be able to go to Costa Rica and once again look up to see these magnificent birds flying and skwaking across the sky. Go visit ARA, make a donation, and be part of the solution to save these amazing birds.
