“Creative baked goods, organic and delicious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2014

Waterhouse has established a reputation as a regional leader in the local organic foods movement - taking their amazing breads and specialty bakery items to farmers markets and other lucky places around southern Wisconsin, and bringing home to Lake Mills great access to regional organic offerings through their micro store. The quality of their baked goods is outstanding. My current favorite is the bacon gruyere scone, but this time of year I'm reminded of their many unique and fabulous seasonal offerings, too. So worth a visit, and a return visit, and another....

“Good food, limited menu”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2014 via mobile

Stopped by after visiting Trek Bicycles in Waterloo. Grabbed lunch: quiche and salad plus chicken sandwich and parfait. Good local ingredients and very fresh. Ordered a latte to go. Only minor complaint is the oatmeal cookies we took home. Just not as special as everything else.

“Great place to stop.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2014 via mobile

Relaxed coffee shop environment. We stopped Saturday morning, driving from Waukasha to Madison for breakfast. Coffee was great and scones fresh. I had the yogurt parfait and my wife had oatmeal. Both were very good. We will definitely stop again.

“We drove 60 miles to visit. Yes it was well worth it!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2014

We saw this bistro profiled on the TV show Wisconsin Foodie. The breads and organic local ingredients looked fabulous. On Sunday morning my wife & I decided to go visit, despite the 60 mile drive. The bistro is on the main drag in downtown Lake Mills, the small town square (complete with outdoor ice skating rink just screams "Americana".

The bistro is quaint, with local productsfor sale from various vendors spread throughout the room. A great selection of breads, pies, cookies, and scones gets your mouth watering while you review the menu. My wife had French Toast with local maple syrup and fresh whipped cream. Delicious!

I had the Brunch - in three acts. Act one was a cup of yogurt with fruit and granola. Act two was two small quiches (Swiss mushroom and Pumpkin walnut) and salad. Act three was Cinamon Ice Cream from Sassy Cow Dairy and Coconut macaroons. Fabulous!

We bought Pita bread, multigrain seed brad and cookies to take home. Great stuff!

Most all ingredients are from local suppliers. Fresh, delicious and unique. I am just sorry we don't have a place like this closer to home.

Support these folks. They are doing things right!

“Give it a try, see what you think”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

We were recently in the Lake Mills, Wisconsin area for a wedding, and stopped in to check out the Water House.

It is a nice little cafe that offers fresh local food. The menu is a little funky, but they are trying to be an edgy, modern cafe. They serve coffee (which is alright, I tried a cup) and they have fresh bakery items. I also tried the zucchini cake/bread, which too, was okay. We did not eat there as the menu is a bit limited, but they are giving it a good go.

It's worth checking out while you're in Lake Mills.
