This was our second stay at Seven Oaks. We stayed in the same cottage because we liked it. I'm sure the others are nice too but we tend to stick with what we like. It is an hour drive from our home which makes it convenient. Both Amanda and Leon (the owners) are very friendly and accommodating.

We picked a couple of FREE movies from their large selection and went to our place to unpack. It was clean and fresh. My wife was happy to see the bathroom floor and towel bar heating was already warm for her. They also have a heated toilet seat which thanks to Seven Oaks I will probably be installing at home in the future. All cottages have a DVD player, free wi-fi and other very nice amenities including a gas fireplace for ambiance. The breakfast delivered each morning is very nice as well

We went out to dinner at Tuscan which was fantastic. Came back to our room, watched the movies. Enjoyed the hot tub and went to bed. On our second day we went downtown to browse and spent the rest of the day inside watching more movies we picked out.

If you are looking for a nice place to get away, I think Seven Oaks is a well kept secret. It is a bit off the beaten path but if the weather was good the walk would be fine. We don't always like being in the middle of everything anyway.

Room Tip: Talking to other guests, I think they are all nice

I bought a groupon for a 2 night stay at SevenOaks. My girlfriend and I were greeted with a bottle of wine and cheese in front of our fireplace. The place was perfect. They pay great attention to detail with the heated floors in the bathroom, the heated towel rack, as well as the great selection of DVD's at your disposal. It sits in a great quiet location a few block from the water. Very convenient when you want to go into downtown. We will definitely come back soon. Thank you for the great weekend.

We wanted to find some place special to celebrate our anniversary. This place is amazing. A fireplace and a whirlpool along with extra touches to make it special. We got the privacy we wanted and a short trip to downtown. It was a cold weekend but we were warm and comfortable.

The bathroom alone makes this a five star stay: heated floor and towels; bathtub big enough for my 6'2" husband to sit comfortably; fluffy towels and robes; and a 3-shower head blast of hot water!

It's a great alternative to a traditional hotel room with complete quiet and privacy. The cottage was cozy and warm and the bed was very comfortable. Add in wine and cheese upon arrival and what else is there to say?

We just got back from our weekend at SevenOaks. It was amazing, We went to celebrate our first anniversary. It was nice and quiet and romantic. It was nice to have a place where children and pets aren't allowed. The room was perfect. We received a bottle of wine and cheese platter upon arrival. Also the heated floors in the bathroom were turned on and the cottage was nice and toasty. A major plus for me was that while it was a B & B everyone had their own space and individual cottages. When you check in they ask what time you would like breakfast delivered in the morning and when it arrives it is a tray full of options, all of which are delicious. They also have a very large selection of DVDs for you to borrow if you wish. The office staff was great! We called a few times over the weekend for a few things and they had things ready for us within minutes. We felt like we were at a B&B like you see in TV and movies.

I wholeheartedly agree with all the great reviews. We stayed in the Windsor for a romantic fall weekend getaway from the Twin Cities. The rate is outside what I would normally spend but was worth it.
Since everyone has already hit most of the main points I'll throw in a couple of details from my checklist for a good spot. Comfortable bed, check. Good water pressure in shower, check. Luxurious linens/towels, check (love the robes). Has own tankless water heater so plenty of hot water (to fill up that giant tub). Comfortable furniture (no thud when you sit on the couch!), check.

Plan to come back, check.

Room Tip: If you are arriving at night you'll have to look carefully for the small understated Seven Oaks...
