I stayed at the Carousel Inn & Suites the last week of Jun. I needed connecting rooms and this hotel had what I needed for a good price. One of the lights in our room didn't work and we called to get it replaced, we had a maintenance kid show up but said they didn't have a light bulb and would get one too us. They did bring one by the next day, the new bulb didn't work either, evidently it was the lamp which wasn't replaced. The room was short on outlets, there was a power strip by the TV, but nothing by the beds. The maids did not speak English but their supervisor did come by everyday and asked if the room had been serviced and did we have any problems.
Our sink started leaking while we were there, we called the office and someone was there in minutes. He put an ice bucket under the sink and said they would do the plumbing after we checked out. We had a king size bed and the sheets and mattress pad were so loose they came off every night. My parents had the connecting room and when they turned on the heater, the place started to smell like fish. Apparently this only happed with the heater on, the A/C in their room worked fine with no smell. Hallway noise comes through the doors very easily, I didn't hear much noise from the other rooms, either the walls were thick enough or the rooms were mostly vacant.
They have several small pools disigned for kids of all ages; some pools had a max depth of 9 inches, another one had a max depth of 18 inches, and the bigger pools were from 3 to 5 feet deep. If you have small kids and babies, these pools would be fun for them. The water slide was not always operational and there were no hours posted for times of the slide; disappointing for my kids. There are several places to eat within walking distance, and Noah's Ark water park is close enough to walk but far enough to use the car. Carousel Inn & Suites had discount tickets for Mt. Olympus, but they include part of the cost of the tickets with a higher room rate. You may want to look at buying a Dells Fun Card to help offset costs for park admission.
I would be willing to stay their again, however, with so many hotels in the area, I would pick another one just to try it out. Overall, I was satisfied with Carousel Inn & Suites, especially the price, but the Carousel Inn & Suites in an older hotel, so expect the rooms to look and feel older.
