I LOVE this place! I feel like I'm in Colorado when I'm there. The setting is gorgeous, peaceful and sooo relaxing. The cabins are impeccably clean and maintained. Attention to detail is outstanding, as are Cowboy David's cookies!!!! A great place to escape reality! Cowboy Joe rocks!

Four days of blissful silence from the cacophony of the tightly wound urban world- an expedition to times past when a vacation from the workday truly was a time to recharge.
When darkness settles in, the night sky is resplendent with incandescent stars. As you prepare to retire, take a soothing bath, using the bath accessories that have thoughtfully been provided.
Morning is heralded with songbirds - enjoy your coffee on the porch, snuggled in the welcoming arms of a rocker in your own private world. Yes, Joe's cookies are as good as others have reported. He is a charming & sincere man with an aptitude as a gracious host to a spectacular retreat. Thank you Joe, for maintaining this spot of heaven on earth.

I have been here 3 times already this year, and have come once a year since 2011. I keep coming back for the peacefulness, tranquility and COOKIES! This unique place in Wisconsin looks similar to the mountains in TN, it's gorgeous in ALL seasons! You get an escape from your life and come back refreshed and rejuvenated.

The cabins are beyond amazing with fresh linens and every little detail is taken care of. In winter cabins are warm and cozy with the fireplace heater and in summer you have an air conditioner to take care of the heat.

The ranch is not far from bike and hiking trails and local bars with good food. Or if you bring your own food there is a kitchen. I have done both.

The beds are big and very comfortable. I sleep well when I come here, better than at home!

I love sitting out on the porch in the rocking chairs watching the horses go by and looking at the scenery or reading. Now that there is wireless I've been known to take a computer or iPad on the porch with me. But here, the scenery and outdoor activities are enough entertainment.

This would be good for a getaway by yourself, with another person or your family. There's something for everyone. All of the animals are fun to watch.

You will never regret coming here and you'll want to make plans for your next trip as soon as you leave!

Room Tip: All cabins are excellent. Make your reservations early! This is a place you can come year-round.

Kickapoo Valley Ranch was a great recharge for our lives. Clean, and well taken care of. It was easy to be there. My husband and I enjoyed a bike ride through the Kickapoo Valley Reserve after a spring rain. The smell of the earth was refreshing to reconnect with. We also took a fly fishing lesson from the Driftless Angler in Viroqua and caught some brown trout...a very fun morning. We will definitely be back. Thanks!!

We've been staying with Cowboy Joe and Cowboy Dave at least once a year since 2005. The cabins are excellently appointed and very comfortable and we look forward to ample sitting time on the porches each time we visit. The ranch is very peaceful and a great get away. It's perfectly situated next to the Kickapoo Valley Reserve, so hiking and biking and canoeing always figure in to our stay.

Joe is a hoot and always ready with information about what to do in the area, including trails and restaurants.

Spent a weekend with family at Kickapoo Valley Ranch. Went kayaking on the Kickapoo River, my favorite place to Kayak. Hiked and went to Wildcat Mountain State Park. Went shopping at the Amish farms for plants, bakery and organic food. The scenery in the river valley is gorgeous and the KV Ranch is well run, friendly owners who make wonderful cookies and cakes too! We'll be Back!

Our family took a trip up to the Kickapoo Valley Ranch to visit relatives that live nearby (and are owners of the Blue Goose Pizza and Ice Cream that you have to visit while here) to recharge the batteries after a hectic start to the year. I must say, between no TV other than DVDs, no cell phone and no Internet, it was wonderful to just spend time together as a family and enjoy this great land that God has given us. Now, I'm not saying you can't get cell phone or internet reception, because you can, we chose not to while we were there.

We have definitely found the place that we'll be staying whenever we visit the Kickapoo River area (my wife has already told me we have to go up during the fall and rent canoes and go down the river). Thanks for providing a wonderful escape and a true hidden gem.
