“Tasty Food, Great Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2013

Veer and Kumar did a great job answering our questions and explaining how a few different dishes were prepared.

My GF and I tried the tomato soup, buttered nan, a korma, a curry, and the chef happily prepared an off-menu Indian spinich dish called palak pakora. The condiments struck the correct balance of sweet, hot, salty, and acid.

For dessert, they were out of the mango ice cream so we tried the pistachio ice cream and mango cake. Yum!

Everything was delicious! If we lived in LaX, instead of St Paul, we'd eat here weekly!

“Great flavors and value.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013 via mobile

Tucked away in the corner of Jackson Plaza in LaCrosse, WI is this great food option. They have a daily lunch buffet that shouldn't be missed. If you don't know indian food and want to try a little of everything the buffet is the best option. However, the most popular dish, in my opiniom, is the Chicken Tikka Masala. I always order it Spicy and to-go. It is the best dish and you get a huge portion as well. Plus the spicy version will give you the best flavor

“Intimate and Delicious!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

I love having dinner here; there's so much variety on the menu. The restaurant is quiet and dark perfect for intimate dinners with close friends or your partner. Everything is flavorful and presented beautifully. I go at least once a month.

“Inconsistent, yes!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

I agree with the reviewer who said that experiences at this restaurant are inconsistent. Some days, the buffet is fresh and inventive; other days, you might find yourself wondering if you are eating yesterday's curry. The dinner menu is HUGE, but they'll tell you they can't make some of the South Indian dishes, even though they're listed. The wait times are predictably slow for eat-in and take-away @ dinner time, which can pose a problem if you are eating with young ones. Sometimes the food is worth the wait.

When this was the only Indian restaurant in town, I could overlook the shoddy decor and the inconsistencies with the food. I could also overlook the overworked staff and their so-so customer service. Now that the Kabob House is up and running, I don't think I'll be back here anytime soon.
