“A lovely respite from a harried life.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2009

The rooms are lovely and the innkeepers are friendly but not intrusive. Breakfast was fabulous. We would enjoy staying at the Phipps again.

Everything was amazing, the soak tub was huge and the room beautiful. The breafast was a delicious three course meal. This B and B may be impossible to beat.

The Phipps Inn is the perfect anecdote to holiday stress and winter weather. Everything about it was wonderful, due to the fabulous attention to detail from our hosts. Beautiful rooms (we stayed in the Peacock room which has the most luxurious bed we've ever seen), spendid holiday decorations and a scrumptious breakfast made the stay perfect. And if that's not enough, downtown Hudson is a gem with lovely restaurants and shopping. The antique store is one of the best we've seen.

My husband and I stayed at the Phipps Inn on March 2nd, and 3rd for a weekend getaway. The home was absolutely beautiful. We felt welcomed and comfortable the moment we walked in the front door. We stayed in the Peacock room, which was on the top floor. The room was very cozy, inviting, and super clean. There was a jacuzzi tub in the room and a fireplace, making it very easy to sit back and relax. Breakfast was great, but not if you are watching your diet. It was quite delicious, but a little sweeter (stuffed french toast, sticky buns, brownies, etc) and fattier (sausage, bacon, etc) than what we usually eat. Since we were on vacation, we ended up eating everything anyway because it was so good. This was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast and I really feel like we could not have picked a better place. The owners are very welcoming, friendly, and give you your privacy. This really is the perfect place for a romantic couple getaway. We will definitely stay at The Phipps Inn the next time we are in Wisconsin.

My husband and I received a gift certificate for the Phipps Inn, and booked the Willow Chamber on New Year's Eve. We had a wonderful time! The room, the amenities, and our overall experience exceeded our expectations. To begin with, the owners of this establishment are extremely pleasant and professional. Secondly, the Inn itself is very large and solidly built. Our room felt like an oasis. It wasn't huge, but we had plenty of elbow room. And, a white-glove test would surely pass, because it was immaculate! We both slept very well and didn't hear any voices or noises from other guests. We especially enjoyed the double whirlpool - it was so relaxing! We selected to have breakfast delivered to our room, and what a treat that was! Stuffed french toast, sausage, blueberry scones, grapefruit, coffee, juice and fine china. We will definitely stay at the Phipps again!

  • Liked — Large, clean rooms, friendly and professional staff, comfort
  • Disliked — Nothing
  • Tips/Secrets — Untie the curtains at the foot of bed to prevent early morning sunlight from creeping in

Very charming and elegant. Wonderful four course breakfast every morning. The owners are very polite and let guests have their privacy. Our room was cozy - refurbished attic - and was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Just a minute from downtown Hudson with cute shops. We will definitely go again.
