This Inn was recommended by the Chicago Tribune as having a very unique get-away experience. I booked the Silo which is a converted grain silo for 3 nights for our 20th anniversary.
The silo had obviously not been used or cleaned in several months. There were dead flies around all the window sills and dead ants on the floors. In the bedroom, on the top floor, we saw evidence of rodents in the chairs, on the counter tops and IN the microwave. The bed looked clean but I did have a severe rash after spending the night. The fireplace did not work. Unfortunately we had no choice but to stay the night because of the late hour and a snowstorm.
We checked out early the next morning and moved to another B&B. I did pay for one night but asked for the CC slip back for the other 2 nights from the owner after I explained the issues. He was very surprised and offered to show us another cabin but I didn't want to chance another night night in a badly-kept place.
I cannot recommend this B&B to anyone.
